Is this a plothole?

It's the same when Vegeta and Nappa destroyed Arlia.
"Ok, use your instincts Kakarott. Right or Left? (Hmmm... I'd have to say... left.) Good. Then I'm going right!" (Vegeta to Goku as they try to find their way to free the others inside Buu - Episode: The Innards of Buu)

This can't end well. I always just figured they were really high up in the atmosphere, kinda like in Movie 2. As for Vegeta and Nappa destroying Arlia, well, maybe their ship has some kind of protective barrier or force field or something? There really is no answer, you just have to use your imagination sometimes.

Exactly! That's what I'm saying. This can't end well. I always just figured they were really high up in the atmosphere
Oh, that's a good one too.As for Vegeta and Nappa destroying Arlia, well, maybe their ship has some kind of protective barrier or force field or something?

I know it's completely pointless, to try to apply actual science to fantasy, sure DBZ has a light smattering of sci-fi but it's mostly fantasy......For me it's kinda fun...It's like mental-cake. I'm not here to seriously argue, this sort of topic only turns sour, when people take contradictions to their speculations as being an insult to their intelligence.

Ah ha, I've got it now! A explanation to end both the Boss Rabbit, Gotenks and Bardock dilemma. You see the DB universe works on "Looney tune physics." *Dramatic pause* Boss Rabbit died on the moon way before it was destroyed because, he realized there wasn't a atmosphere. Just like the Coyote can walk off a cliff as long as he keeps looking up. So in DB as long as you don't remember your limitations like the fact that you can't breathe in space you'll get away with them. Which is why SSJ Gotenks was able to survive. :pForgotten Hero wrote:...Yeah, we have all been saying it's plot-hole. Toriyama made bunch of errors in the show. Others are discussing that Boss rabbit died on the moon, via Roshi. Toriyama probably forgot about him like years or even months after that.

Sometimes, mass has nothing to do with the size of an object. The point is, the higher the mass the greater the gravity. You can't change that whether it is science fiction or not. If gravity or any scientific word was not specified in the science fiction manga like dragon ball, then it is directly proportional to the real world.Forgotten Hero wrote:Not in the Dragon Universe...Kaio's planet is small as shit and has a 10x gravity...goodguy777 wrote:Which is which? High atmosphere or holding more gases around the planet? You stated high atmosphere first, am I wrong?Rocketman wrote: A planet with higher gravity can hold more gases around it.
High atmosphere doesn't produce high gravity.
Gravity depends on the mass of the planet not the height of the atmosphere.![]()
This is probably a plot-hole. Toriyama probably wasn't thinking about this shit.
Not always, size of the planet has something to do with higher atmosphere, 90% or 80%.Xyex wrote: That wasn't what he said. He said "Yeah, I'm guessing Planet Vegeta has a high atmosphere. Which could be do to the high gravity of 10x that of Earth."
IE: Because Planet Vegeta has a higher gravity it has further reach and can contain more gasses thus giving it a higher atmosphere than the Earth.
It depends, dragon ball is 90% science fiction which means science is sometimes also applicable.Pain wrote:Let's not turn this into the new "Argue with goodguy"Do physics and atmospheres really matter in Dragonball?
It's a gag manga! It never was nor was it meant to be scientifically sound or accurate.

How do you make the assumption that an science in Dragonball is directly proportional to reality? You are just saying random stuff with no actual proof.goodguy777 wrote:You can't change that whether it is science fiction or not. Learn to read please, I said if it wasn't specified then it is assumed constant because Dragon Ball is 80-90% SCIENCE-fiction not a bugs bunny or tom and jerry cartoons.Forgotten Hero wrote:How do you make the assumption that an science in Dragonball is directly proportional to reality? Dragonball is 100% gag manga and 100% action manga at the same time. It's just that simple. It's not confusing at all.

That's stupid, do you even know how to use a percentage difference? That's a basic math.Pain wrote:Dragonball is 100% gag manga and 100% action manga at the same time. It's just that simple. It's not confusing at all.

According to Shuiesa, the Genre of Dragon Ball is Martial arts, Science fiction, Mystical, Adventure and Gag.
Dragon Ball is not 100% gag like tom and jerry or bugs bunny.
Gag = Simple comedy(slight nudity or toilet humor), unlike the comedy of tom and jerry of Bugs Bunny(tom survives a nuclear bomb, it's a comedy).
Martial Arts = Action and tournament.
Adventure = Different places and enemies.
Mystical = Wish from the dragon, water that can make you strong, sorcery, demon, nyoibo, Goku's cloud, gods, senzu beans and after-life.
Science-Fiction = Robots, genetic engineering of cells, aliens from another planet, hoipoi capsules, fying cars and motors, spaceship that can travel from galaxy to galaxy, time machine, mutants and advance architectural design.
Dragon Ball is not a bugs bunny cartoons for you to judge that SOMETIMES area of science is not applicable.
It's a gag manga! It never was nor was it meant to be scientifically sound or accurate.

I laughed my ass off at how you just avoided the current debate. That was pretty funny.gus738 wrote:Also vegeta and napa were out of a planet and blew it up, this was when they were on a course to planet earth.
Why so serious? No one should think that deep into Dragonball. I think I'm understanding why you're always Sparking (Get my pun?) arguements. You're making a bad name for yourself. You're gonna be the new "Old Pain" if you keep this up.goodguy777 wrote:Genre of Dragon Ball:Pain wrote:Don't drag me into your criticisms, buddy.
