A silly little question...
If he had an ounce of self-respect remaining, he'd have stopped doing that when Bulma got married.
Judging by that yellow suit though, I'd say his self-respect levels were probably about zero.

Everything Yamcha does at that point seems designed to draw attention to himself, perhaps he somehow realizes most viewers have no idea why he's still in the series?PsyLiam wrote:If he had an ounce of self-respect remaining, he'd have stopped doing that when Bulma got married.

In a feeble attempt to connect this to the topic: Where did Yamcha get the money for the suit or anything else he has? At the end of GT, he and Pu-erh seem to have gone back to being desert bandits...so, the money all dried up at that point??

I dunno. Assuming that they are desert bandits again is a bit of a stretch based on just seeing Yamcha fixing his car in the desert.
It really shouldn't be that hard for Yamcha to make money. I'm sure he could go into showbusiness, or athletics, or baseball again if he really had to. (Sure, he's old, but he's still got to be several billion times more powerful than any ordinary baseball player.)

I wonder if they put that much thought into it. TOEI wanted to throw in all the old characters, and since we first saw Yamcha in a desert, perhaps they thought that a desert would be a fitting place to see him for the last time.
In any case, a 50-year old man in a yellow suit sporting a mid-life crisis ponytail as a desert bandit? Can't really see it myself.

And yet, it would make just as much sense as anything else in GT
Seriously, though, it prolly is just a throwback to where we first saw him. Which in itself is kinda weird, as it's the only episode of GT he appears in, so while it's a nice touch for the fans, it's a rather confusing thing to do.
