Characters that have never been playable...

Post by dragonballzgtfighter » Tue Sep 02, 2008 8:21 pm

(Does anybody have? Shall I create?) a list of characters that have never appeared in a DBZ/GT game?

I think Androids 14 and 15 have never appeared in any game.

What other characters have never appeared in a DBZ/GT game?

Edit:

The list
Android 14
Android 15

Once Sparking! METEOR started dipping into the bottom of the barrel with regards to playable characters, it almost became/becomes ridiculous to try and create a list of characters that haven't actually been playable before.

I mean, do you include the doctor that looked over Bardock in the rejuvenation tank? He was given the name/title of "Doctor" in guidebooks, and that's just as much on the level as the nameless "Freeza Henchman" that was playable in the JP Wii version of NEO and then METEOR.

Or do you stick to "major" characters? But then what's a "major" character? More movie henchmen, as the aforementioned jinzoningen happen to be? But then what about that old fart that wants to release Hildegarn in DBZ movie 13? He doesn't even do anything! But then again, neither did Tapion...

But Tapion is totally badass, so he's exempt. Oh yeah, he defeated Hildegarn before ( even though we never actually get to see it ).

I do agree with you though on this, it gets pretty ridiculous when the games con me into believing that I need to be able to play as Wheelo, who sucks ginormously by the way.

Garlic Jr. Henchmen (both in movie 1 and his mini-saga)
Turles Henchmen
Cooler Henchmen with the exception of Salza
Doctor
Paragas
Bee
Old Chi Chi (GT)
Old Bulma (GT)

Edit: I feel like I'm wrong about Turles, Garlic Jr or Cooler's henchmen...I think you may fight one of these three as stock enemy's in the NES RPG games.

Is this even possible after Sparking! METEOR?

How about...the evil shenron guys from GT? Surely not all of them were playable in Meteor. And how about Goku and Vegeta Jr? Bardock's crew? Kid Future Trunks?

See guys, there's so many more characters!

Ginger, Sansho and Nicky all appear in the first NES DBZ game. It squeezes the Garlic Jr. movie into the middle of the Saiyan saga in order to expand on it a bit - basically, after Goku dies against Raditz, Garlic Jr. conveniently starts gathering the Dragonballs, so the remaining heroes have to fight him and his henchmen for roughly half the game before they can wish Goku back.

I'm honestly surprised no one ever suggested the original Kaioshins. I would love to see the Dai Kaioshin personally. Once Meteor delved into characters that never even had a witnessed attack in either the manga or anime and gave them special moves, I figured the gloves were off.

Kami not being in a game is a huge omission. I think other members of the Red Ribbon army are importent omissions once we start including other Dragonball characters.

I would like one more Sparking game just so all the importent stragglers can be put in a game. Criteria should be simple. Did they every get a fight scene in any part of the series. Off the top of my head.

Kami
Sgt Metallic
Murashashi (Sgt Purple)
Commander Black in his battle armor.
Giran
Ledgic
Rildo
Tullece henchmen (all of whom had great designs and unique attacks)
Cooler's Henchmen
Dr.Wheelo's henchmen
Drum
Garlic Junior's henchmen
Android's 14 and 15
Bio Brolli
Bacterian ( has a whole bunch of attacks)
Crane Hermit

The only characters I really wanted to see available in Sparking! METEOR were GT Goten and GT Trunks (could be an alternate outfit if you let him have the sword, even though he only uses it in the GT and Final Bout openings)

It kinda bugged me how I could play as all these lame henchmen, but I couldn't play as Goten and Trunks all grown up.

With the new generation of systems, I bet we'll be able to play as every single character in the series that's ever had a body. Especially the entire human race giving the energy for the genki dama at the end of the series, Lunch, and the farmer from the start of the series.

The marketing campaign will probably be "OVER 9000" characters. Ugh. :x

Off the top of my head:

Garlic Sr.
Bibidi
Ranfan
Man-wolf
Shin
Panput
Yamu
Bardock's other teammates
The fan-named "Buff Buu" (AKA Kid Buu after absorbing South Kaioshin but before absorbing Dai Kaioshin and becoming Fat Buu)
Nok (Was that his name? The kid who taunted Vegeta in the 28th Budokai)
That guy in the chicken suit from the 28th Budokai (AKA the greatest character in the series)
Bee (What? He's a character)
Baba
Enma
The lesser Kaios
Shenlong (What? He's a character, is he not?)
Porunga
The black star dragon (AKA "The Red One")
Karin
Maron
Marron
Bra
Mighty Mask
Goten and Trunks posing as Mighty Mask
Mr. Popo
Jewel
Oolong
Puar
Goz
Mez
The guy Kuririn beats with one punch in the 25th Budokai
Fake Namek Alien #1
Fake Namek Alien #2
Dende
Cargo
Yellow
Purple
Silver
White
Black
Red
The Dr. Slump characters, minus Arale
Neko Majin
That kid who is Neko Majin's friend
The Saiyan from one of the Neko Majin chapters (Onion, I think?)
Other Toriyama characters like the demons from Sandland

That's all I've got. Quite a few more than I expected when I sat down to write this. Even discounting my joke entries, maybe Sparking 4 really is justified?

This is actually playable in the Carddass-based Budokai arcade game.
Oolong
Oolong is playable in Advance Adventures, though only as his various transformations.

Black
Black in the battle jacket is playable in Advance Adventures as well.

Well actually you are saying two different things, playable and "in a game" differ plenty, for instance the purple haired mermaid was in Gokuden (SNES) but not playable.
