.... I sort of have a fixation on the green and green men, so making Pic/Daimaou not green, for me? It's sort of like making Bulma actually start wearing underwear and reasonable clothing for most of the people here.
So yes, not being green is a big frigging deal at least in my case, even if the rest of him comes out alright.
The rest of my rant can be heard in my other posts.

Yeah I like the guy that did the Dragon's voice in the Ocean Dub. He sounds more "menacing and powerful" I guess. Sabat sounds like...Piccolo (well his Piccolo) but really bored. I've never heard the JP Shenron. I should look that up one of these days.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

I think somebody needs to stop trying to make jokes. And I'm not joking about that.
I don't get what's wrong with the idea of Mr. Sabat doing live-action Shenlong's voice. It's easily one of the better dub voices. It's not like they're getting Schemmel to do his voice for an entirely CGI'd King Kai. I've said it before, but if somebody has to do his voice, the best choice would be the one who's already been doing it for 10 years. Just because it'll make some people go "oh no it'll remind me of the dub" isn't nearly a good enough reason to NOT hire him.
Also, the overblown, insane level of melodramatics in this thread are continuing to make me lol.

Yeah we should all be serious and at each others throats. Seriously If you say the wrong thing around here people will verbally eradicate you.

No, it's just usually the humor we do partake in is a little more effective than "blah blah blah," >--(half a page later...)--> "lol, j/k." Without things like tone and inflection in an actual voice, it's hard to make sarcasm work.Chrono Trigger wrote:Yeah we should all be serious and at each others throats. I haven't heard that either. By "narrating" would I be incorrect to assume that it's Joji Yanami? If so, that would just be numerous shades of kickass.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:What? Thats the first time I heard that. That'd be really effin cool if its for real. They already have one of the Japanese voice actors narrating the Japanese version.

Trust me, what we think we know about the movie might end up being very different. Remember Spider-Man 3, the trailers looked awesome, they showed us tons of stuff about the movie, clips, cast interviews, and you know what, it turned out to be a lot different than most people were expecting. That's all I meant. We really won't know anything until the credits roll and the lights come up.Snail wrote:Uh..What? We know the plot, the cast, the 're-imagined' Piccolo ..etc etc. Where have you been?

They did? Where did that get announced, and which Japanese voice actor is it?Chrono Trigger wrote:They already have one of the Japanese voice actors narrating the Japanese version. :?
edit: Rats, I was the third to ask that. So how about another question: is this movie being released in Japan first? I seem to remember that it's supposed to come out there first, but will that be a general release, or just a special "world premier" type thing where it will just be shown once or something? I guess either way, I'm going to be seeing this in Japan, since I'll be studying abroad there (...in less than two weeks...), so if the Japanese version does have some of the original Japanese voice actors, I'll get to see that. That'll be...interesting, to say the least.

The teaser trailer in Japan, I didn’t see it but a lot of people said they saw it. They describe it that characters don’t appear at first, but the solar eclipse appears in space (like the image Danny Boyle director’s Sunshine) and the eclipse changes to a dragon ball and seven balls fly in space and DRAGONBALL logo appears. Narration is Ichirou Nagai, Japanese famous voice actor in dragonball anime, voice of karin-sama (Goku’s master cat) and Tsuru sennin. If I see teaser trailer I report it.

Hey, Chatwin's doing that "index and middle finger extended, other fingers clenched" thing that Goku sometimes does! That's a nice detail.
