At least with Bebop there's not much outside of spaceship dogfights that they'd have to tone down, grit up, and make realistic.

That's true. Also Bebop isn't as complex as Dragon Ball. With Dragon Ball their trying to squish 150 episodes into a 2 hour movie. I don't know as long as they can keep the music intact and nail the characters it could be decent. Still though Keanu Reeves ? Bleh...

I'm sure Dragonball would be easier to do if it were just like 30 episodes or something and the major storyarcs were completed in two to five episodes.

Even with the space travel and all, Bebop's a lot more "down to Earth" (pun TOTALLY intended) in setting and design than DragonBall, and needs less adaptation to work.

The hard part (for them at least) is trying to establish the story and characters. I think it'd be an easier task to shorten the Saiyan Arc and then going on from there. Downside is people aren't going to know the history of Goku and his friends. Too bad it's not as easy as Spider-man. "Look he was a nerd, he got bit by a radioactive spider, and got powers. What the fuck do you want? It's Spider-Man!"

Very much so. After both Dragonball and Bebop are out, it'd be nice to look at how FOX treats them since they're both anime.

Yup. Well all that's left now is to wait for the actual trailer to see this thing in motion. Hopefully the fight scenes in this movie will be REALLY good. I'm talking Zanzokens and people jumping hundreds of feet in the air good. Please PLEASE let them have gotten that right!

I'm pretty sure a couple people (myself included) have mentioned that possibility; it just got ignored because people can't bitch about it. It's pretty likely too, what with certain comments from Marsters about Piccolo "undergoing some changes" and how much he praised the look of the character. He's a big enough fan so that he wouldn't say that if he was uninformed. When you've been sealed inside a jar for the last couple millennia, it's not exactly gonna be great for your complexion.

Also, to quote someone from another forum who, rather than crying and acting like his life was over right off the bat, decided to take a bit of a closer, more analytical look.

ahem. just to be clear on this. there are only 2 piccolo screenshots, one with pretty bad lighting and one with reddish light. so let's just be cautious while commenting on his color.

so, here are a few considerations... (yes, i've got nothing to do)

This pic had bad lighting and they took the screencap while piccolo was in the wrong position...

this is what it should look like with less light.

now, it seems that he has antennae which he keeps attached to his skull

the too-much-bright-shiny light on his bald pate hides the details.

and here i've taken out the red light and unsticked the antennae from the head

i guess he will stick them to the head while fighting... at least i suppose it works this way.

Well, you are going way overboard. What they did to Goku and Chi Chi's origins is far more of a crime than changing Piccolo's skin tone and dropping the antenna. I really don't understand why people are so mad about Piccolo's appearance, seriously what were you people expecting? He looks practically like what I expected minus darker skin tone and antenna. It's not like we didn't know what his costume was gonna look like already, there was that leaked picture months ago.
I mean come on. He has pointy ears, fangs, protruding skeletal structure in the face, ridges that might be small antenna for all we know (the pictures are really small and not great), he is bald, and looks like a demon. Just because his skin isn't the proper color everybody is acting like they were told that their parents died.

I am sorry if I am coming off as an ass, but you people are going way overboard. I mean Kingpin in the Daredevil movie was Black, and he is a white guy in the comics, and it turned out fine, so relax, just because Piccolo isn't the right shade doesn't mean his character won't be portrayed accurately, and that's all that really matters in the end.

And how is it at all embarrassing, humiliating, and unprofessional? His look is fine and looks quite good. Just because it isn't entirely accurate doesn't mean it's any of the things you said. Someone probably worked very hard on Piccolo's redesign while under a tremendous amount of pressure from the studio and some of you people are shitting all over it like you have any idea how much work the people went through. And it's not like Piccolo is that far off, seriously, it's not like he looks like he looks like a teletubie or something.

And to Chuquita, this rant wasn't directed entirely to you, so please don't be offended. I am just sick of hearing this crap, it's out of control.

Even saying that is kind of a stretch. For all we know, Chi-chi still comes from nobility (which would certainly explain her insta-popularity, regardless of her previous company... like Goku), and Goku was raised, home-schooled to some degree, and taught martial arts off in the mountains (which based off shots we've seen of Gohan's dusty, rustic home, is probably the case) until Gohan decided to enroll him in an actual school for his own good. We only know where these two characters are here and now, and some details of their relationship. We do NOT know where they've been up until this point.
