It does take a little bit to get used to, but then again, anything new does.Forgotten Hero wrote:I disagree, I played the Wii version and I could get the hang of it. I guess I just love the PS2 controller. Burst Limit would have been a nightmare to play on the Wii! (At least for me.)Castor Troy wrote:You obviously haven't played Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on the wii which I think is fantastic.Pain wrote:Yeah, DBZ and Wii don't mix well.
But I agree with your Burst Limit comment, 2D fighters with the Wii remote is a hard fail.
I know what you're talking about. I have Mortal Kombat Armageddon and the Wii Controls suck a big pile of ass. But luckily I always intended to use the classic controller which makes me a happy gamer. The S wrote:I love my Wii to death, but trying to play fighting games with the default controller is ass. I'm still trying to plow my way through Godzilla Unleashed; I beat my brother's PS2 version in 1/16th of the time.
Crap... here I am badmouthing the controls, and I've got a spare copy of the game I'm trying to pawn off on someone.... <.<
Besides that, Sparking Meteor is a whole different animal than most fighting games.
I still think it was an improvement over the PS2, but yes METEOR's were much better.Tsukento wrote:Sparking! Meteor's Wii controls were good. o_O Try playing Sparking! Neo with the Wii controls. Now THAT was unplayable.

If that game is real, I'm hoping it's something based on the Tenkaichi engine. After BT3, I don't see myself needing to buy another DBZ game anytime soon. I like the gameplay engine and the cast, so I just feel no need to buy a new game right now.
There are a few features which could convince me to get a new game, but they are rather unnecessary, so I don't see the first game of a new series adding them. A sequel would be much more likely to have any of these:
-New story
Basically, a DBZ fighting game with new antagonists and possibly allies too, like a new movie or saga. I'm not a fan of Toei's original material, but the characters work pretty well in the games, so I would like to see more non-manga material developed directly for new games.
-A character creator.
I know that there are many people that hate the idea, but I really like character creators, like in Soul Calibur III,IV and Mortal Kombat Armageddon. Trying to recreate characters from other franchises using a limited toolset and afterwards playing with them (that's why I don't care about creators in wrestling games, everyone just fights like... wrestlers...) is very fun to me, so I'd buy a new dbz game for any system that had that feature.
After Tenkaichi 3's launch, that one producer from Atari, Donny Clay(?) talked about adding it to later games, but Burst Limit didn't have it and nothing like that has been announced for Infinite World...
-A complete cast list, from DB to the end of DBZ.
The Tenkaichi series is the closest to that yet, so, unless this game is a sequel, I don't see any other DBZ game even approaching it. There would be many repeated abilities like in Tenkaichi, of course, but, if there aren't total clones, it'd be good enough, IMO.

Neither Donny Clay nor Atari have any hand in the actual making of DragonBall games, they just localize and release them in America. So any statements like "we'll do such and such for future games" from him is basically meaningless.Neon Z wrote:After Tenkaichi 3's launch, that one producer from Atari, Donny Clay(?) talked about adding it to later games, but Burst Limit didn't have it and nothing like that has been announced for Infinite World...
Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?

We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

It's actually weird they'd say something like that.Herms wrote:Neither Donny Clay nor Atari have any hand in the actual making of DragonBall games, they just localize and release them in America. Unless, like I said before, Sagas 2.
I know that, but they're still the publisher for the games in America and Europe though, and these games, since the first Budokai for PS2, have always sold better outside of Japan itself, so I don't think they have no influence in the game's production.Herms wrote:Neither Donny Clay nor Atari have any hand in the actual making of DragonBall games, they just localize and release them in America. Often, there are public complaints from developers about publishers or marketing teams getting in the way of the game's creation. Nothing like that has been reported about any of the teams making DBZ games, but I don't think they're somehow above that influence.
