Live Action Movie Thread

I've been trying to keep up, but the thread just keeps getting longer. I can't find half the pics people mention. I did see the Koopa/Piccolo one (damn you, Tsukento).

So, just real quick, what are we bitching about these days? I'm very behind.

I know the Pic picture... which is a mixed thing for me. The color is beyond lame. Coming from a guy who's as big of a Piccolo fan as Velasa, seeing him like that pisses me off. If that turns out to be old Daimao I could buy the jaundice look (if he somehow turns young). But it does seem like that old rumor isn't happening, except in possible future Ma Junior designs. I think his facial structure and teeth and all that work for Daimao, but I miss the antennae. I can see losing them to give off a less alien and more demonic vibe. Basically if they would just fucking make him GREEN.

And did I hear right that Sabat is going to cameo as Shenron? Heh, I actually wouldn't mind that (anyone they get to do Shenron will probably sound about the same). I think it'd be more badass if they got Herbert to do some narration :p

I see talk about Piccolo's backstory going on. Did they say that Kami isn't there? It's always seemed to me like they've been keeping it a bit vague, giving a basic version of his story in discussions. And the whole conflict/imprisonment (presumably by Mutaito) is pretty much what happened. Unless they've stated specifics about that "argument" that run contrary to the series...

Or, to put this another way, that's what we had on backstory in the Daimao arc itself. As far as I can tell, issues of Kami and the big split-off don't even need to be adressed here, right? Kami's nature was a surprise (Goku thought he WAS Daimao when he first met him), and we got the neat little blanks from their history after that meeting, no? This isn't material that a Daimao Saga-based film would need to throw at us in some Star Wars style scrolling prologue.

Kaboom that was really good. I've been trying to put the plot together myself but I just could piece in the missing parts. If it plays out anything like the way you summed it up then it should be a really entertaining movie. I think you left out the part where Roshi trains Goku and you weren't very clear on WHY Roshi went to challenge Piccolo. The part about Young Piccolo going on a rampage and killing Emi, Weaver, and that other guy was a nice touch.

Well it was meant to be the story from Piccolo's POV, so if Goku and the others weren't interacting with him at the time, I didn't bother. I guess Roshi went off and trained Goku in secret or something. There is a shot of Roshi and Goku at Roshi's house, looking nervous as if they need to escape from something.

(EDIT: In retrospect, I forgot all about the "Temple of the Dragon" and the volcano. both of which are apparently important locations, maybe one of them even for the final battle. Oops.)

Onikage, good point. It would certainly be plausible for Piccolo's backstory to not be fully explained. In the next sequel, perhaps Kami would appear and get involved, not to prepare Goku and company for Piccolo Jr's return, but for the Saiyans instead.

So while Piccolo is out destroying stuff Roshi should be busy training Goku ? It seems like it might play out like "History of Trunks" in a way.

You can't just stick Raditz in a cameo. It's just not possible. He's not a character that can just hang around in the background, like...well, the humans. =p

I hope the Chris Angel rumor is true, if only because I rather nonsensically keep thinking that it will mean Raditz will do magic tricks in the sequel. Did anyone ever see the Chris Angel bit where he made a women's legs walk away from her? That'd be a pretty freaky attack for Raditz to have.
