If he is a fusion of Avo and Kado, I'll be disappointed they didn't go with the name Avocado.

I mentioned the same possibility earlier (Aka = Abo + Kado), but I just really, really don't want it to be. I'd really like it if they were cloners. It works with the fact that they're a part of Freeza's army (advanced tech + access to multiple DNA samples since the army's comprised of various aliens).

It even explains why Toriyama dropped it: it would be way too much of a rip of the Cell saga.

That scan that got posted awhile back of Aka is labled "Gattai Aka/Merged Aka", so it does seem likely that he's a fusion of Abo and Kado.

edit: And for the record, the word gattai is used in the manga to describe the results of the Fusion technique. I seem to recall Julian saying some stuff on the podcast way back when that implied that gattai was only used with the potara, but this isn't right.

Interesting. This makes me wonder if Dodoria will be retconned to be a member of the same fusing race. If they are Metamoru, maybe Dodoria is a mutant (explaining both his lack of thingy and defusing after 30 minutes).

Well, I doubt they'd do that, but if Dodoria was revealed to be from Planet Metamor, he could just not be fused with anyone, and the lack of head do-dads could be due to natural variation between members of the species.

Anyway, if Aka is the result of Abo and Kado merging through Fusion, shouldn't he be wearing the Fusion vest and pants? Perhaps they merge in some other way. Unless natives of Metamor have more control over the technique, enabling them to alter the clothes that their fused form has. Or maybe Toriyama forgot that particular aspect of Fusion...

I am finding myself completely lost when it comes to Metamor and whatever else. For some reason, I don't think I'm familiar with this particular aspect of the canon.

They're the race Goku met in heaven who taught him the fusion dance. They're very weak when seperated, but fusion made them incredibly strong. Not sure if we see them in the anime, but we only get the verbal explanation in the manga.

My hope is that, despite the goofy character designs for the villains, we'll get a kickass surprisingly serious storyline with plenty of badass action to boot, with a hint towards a sequel.

As long as it is digital new style animation, I'm set, although id be even happier to see it be related to DBO

They're not shown in the anime either. The only clue we've had to their appearence (up until now?) is Daizenshuu 6 and 7's statements that the vest and Arabic-like belt+pants worn by characters formed by Fusion are Metamorian clothing.

Now that this thing is ooming up, I'm wondering who's in a position to see it. Julian's in Japan now, and I'll be there soon (...9 days...), but who else is there, on this or any other English DragonBall forum? And more importantly, who has a ticket? Hujio has tried to use some of his friends in Japan to get me a ticket, but it might not work. Toyble (the DBAF fanmanga guy) said that it looks like adults won't get in. Personally, if I don't get a ticket, I'll try and sneak in or something. I wonder if you can get arrested for sneaking into a free show?...

Why?, because knowing there's a new Dragonball animation, and I haven't seen it yet causes me physical pain.

Believe me if it's more then 1 min. long Funimation will scoop up the rights for it, when did they ever pass up money?

Maybe it has reference to permanence in fusion, like Potara and Namekkian fusions.

Which again makes me wonder if Dodoria is a fused being.
