Also cropping is a no-issue with this release, as our comparisons have shown that there is nearly nothing lost from the singles, and lots has been gained.

I know the DragonBoxes are considered the best by many, but I think this season is just as good, if not better picture wise. Let's hope seasons 7-9 look just as good!
Click on the high quality link. It will look 1000x better.
I know, and it just really took me by surprise at how much better it looks than the previous sets. It also upsets me that the earlier seasons don't even look half as good as this!

One answer: better quality masters.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I'm sure that doesn't affect things such as disappearing lines, which are non-existent in this season.

I know that Goazr has both of these, but would anyone who has any of the standard DVD movie double features and DBZ season six please post matching screenshots from the Cha-La-Head-Cha-La opening from each?

This would be our best way to see if they used the same or similar remastering process for the double features and season sets.

I don't hear any difference in Gohan's SSJ2 scream in the Dub. I've listened to the Original Single and the Season 6 one. I can't hear any difference.

Also, on the subject of 16's Dub voice. I personally like it better without the filter (Though I do NOT feel the same way about 19's). I've always liked how they had Mr.Inman act for 16, with that robotic way of talking while talking so sweet. I think it was a good way to show the contract from his appearance to his personality.

Season 6 (Taken from Episode 191)
Movie 4

Not a perfect match. But I doubt it's enough to make any difference.

The aspect ratio and size of your season 6 snapshot is a little off, so I readjusted the width to the acurate length.

Here is the differences between the opening animation video quality between season 4 and season 6.

Season 4:

Season 6:

If anyone can get me a correct snapshot of this frame from season 6 (and any other pf the season sets) and any of the double features then we can compare the changes they have made in the remstering process between all of their "Digitally Remastered" Dragonball products.

wow! If that doesn't scream improvement, don't know what does. Is our friend the white chili pepper gone?
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
The colors are a bit different, but that's pretty much all I can see. It's hjard to tell about the missing lines issue, since you have to conside that the season 6 shot is a bit squished vertically.

If I may, one question for those of you who've picked it up early: how's the Japanese audio track?

If I recall, Cha-La Head-Cha-La was muffled quite horribly throughout the entirety of the season five set, and there were a few noticeable dropouts. :?

I'm still calling it unsatisfactory, but I see improvement as well!

The top one is from the Season 4 Orange brick? And the bottom one is from Season 6 Orange brick?

It's actually the aspect ratio of your season 4 screencap that is off.

Yes that is correct. Any other screenshots from any of the other "digitally remastered" movies or season sets would be appreciated.

*Thinks about it for a second*

Gah, your right. My bad, I had PowereDVD set to take snapshots in actual size and ratio, so I don't know what happened. I'll go back and fix it as soon as possible.

Thank you very, very much for pointing that out.

Kyle Hebert HAS redubbed Ox King. Just watch this clip at around 3:20:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jITPGXvV ... re=related

Trust me. His delivery is completely different, and I've seen the original Episode 184 a billion times to the point where I've memorized every line and how it was delivered.

Are there any dub with original music clips on Youtube for this and "Season Five"? It's not like I care about the dub but at least it'll be somewhat watchable to me if I ever find a clip.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

I actually think No. 16 sounds very good in that English clip, far better than I remember. Very sweet and sad. I am still not a fan of the choice of music in the English clip when Gohan transforms, it was a stock Falcouner tune. The tune at the beginning of the clip (from 11 seconds to 32 seconds) would have been a lot better if used during the transformation build up and so on.

It's cause of the robotic filter being removed. They did the same with #19.

Doesn't change the fact that #16 sounds horribly stiff in the acting department.

And Cell did say, "This guy's totally mechanical..." in the manga.
