Yeah, because Dr. Gero could build a perfect android that had infinite power reserves and create a biological construct capable of evolution and power that could possibly destroy a galaxy...but he couldn't quite perfect the art of a natural-sounding synthetic voice box ;p

And Cell did say, "This guy's totally mechanical..." in the manga.
And C3PO is too and he had a natural sounding voice. And in the original him and #19 didn't have to sound unnatural to be classified as robots since that is only a physical state.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

As oddballish as their clothes were, Dr. Gero made them to appear as human as possible to have them blend in (hence why there's also the lack of Ki to make it difficult to pin point them without noticing the big ol' Red Ribbon emblems).

They sounded like ordinary people in the original. Not stereotypical robots.

Well, Dr. Gero didn't sound like a Robot in the Funi dub.

I actually like No 19's voice in the Canadian ocean dub. I can only describe it as "Fat Kid"

I know, awful quality but for some reason I can't find a better clip.

You know, I am not sure if this is on the orange bricks, but it's definitely on the singles. If you change angles, then the image shifts a bit and the colors are darker for the Japanese version during the openers and closers. The show is the same though.

I really don't think they changed their "remastering" process at all. When Season 1 came out and they already had footage from the Broly movie and they actually said that the entire series had received the same treatment, it gave me the impression that they already "remastered" the entire series that way. I don't think that they went back and redid it. I mean it wouldn't make sense to, if all the problems are still there. Namely, the black lines dodging out and blurring. My opinion is that the animation on the show itself became much better over time and that when the later parts of the show were put through the machine, because the animation had already progressed on the original, it just came out better through the "remastering" process. I doubt they are doing each Season separately. They basically said the entire show "received" the same treatment. Which means it already happened in the past tense.

Just got home from Best Buy from buying season 6. So far the only [minor] issue i have with it is it doesnt say "and extras" on the 6th disk like all the others.

But minus that if you havent pre-ordered; go to Bes Buy because you can pick up season 6 and the 3/4 double feature for $45 together.

Better quality masters has nothing to do with DVNR blurring the lines. Season 6 has none of the disappearing lines problems that all of the other Season sets have, just like the Movie Double Features. Season Three had a better quality master than 1 & 2, yet the disappearing lines crap was FAR worse in that than in those two Seasons. Funi probably used Seasons 1 & 2, and Movies 8 & 10 as the Guinea Pigs. Don't forget, the only footage they showed in that trailer was from Season One, and 8 & 10, and they had already announced the Blu-Ray release of those two movies. They probably "remastered" those first since they were the first two releases.

Damnit, I don't know when I'll order it, I usually have them preordered by now but I haven't had money in ages, though I got a refund on some t-shirts yesterday my mum won't let me touch it until I get a college course...

Strange, but I can't wait to see this season, It's the only part I never watched when I was on TV.

Got the set this morning, some cool stuff, first the book says Mr. Satan :D , but in general the booklet is pretty cool this time, some good art too. A flier in the set also confirms that the next set is coming out in November 11, which is cool because that means the series will be done within a year.

Because he's a cyborg, not an android. The dub made it clear that Dr. Gero was originally human.

Hey I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this...But I forgot to mention...The Dub added in a great line...Vegeta actually says the "I'll never fight again" line now. The new full Dub line is "I am no warrior...And I will never fight again".

Good on FUNi.

Well, he's always been called Mr. Satan in the uncut dub. "Hercule" was only used in the edited dub. Okay, so the uncut dub does occasionally refer to him as "Hercule Satan", but that's it: Occasionally. His original name has always been in the uncut dub, so it's no surprise that the booklet refers to him as such.

I bought it yesterday.

I have noticed a couple of cases of disappearing lines, but compared to the previous 5 sets, this is nothing. There's no case of someone's entire facial outline disappearing. It looks just like the Bardock/HoT and Movies 1 & 2/Double features for the most part.

Oh, and I know some people were complaining about Gohan's "He hurt them!" line, but in the Japanese version, he says, "Piccolo-san! Dammit!", so it's not really all that bad.

Also, although Spirit vs. Spirit isn't in Gohan's transformation, Funi at leas tried to compensate by adding in sound effects.

Does anyone with the set know if FUNi kept the alternate angles for the title cards or if it's just the english card? Also, has FUNi been adding in any swearing for the dub after the third season? It would seem weird to stop at a certain point and start using words like "heck" and "darn".

They still use alternate angles for the Season DVD's, just not the movies. And no, they haven't added swears since they've basically stopped redubbing characters (I think these "new lines" that people have been talking about are there because they're probably using an older audio tape).

Figures that they don't include the alternate angles on the releases that would be totally uncut, as they have all the original Japanese credits for the movies and not for the seasons. Of course, it's good to hear that the episodes still have their original title card and not FUNi's titles.

Like I said before, Lance said they dropped 'em for a higher bit-rate and because the cameras in to corners were irratating people.

I was not one of those complainers.
