I gave up long ago expecting a "WHOAHMAG THIS IS THE SHIT" picture with accurate colors. This looks good because I wasn't expecting anything else. Past season 2 the boxsets have gotten to the point where I can tolerate them and accept the fact that they will never be the Dragonbox or even the old singles as far as picture quality goes, but they are cheap and released very frequently with great subtitles. If they end up looking as good as the Bardock Remastered special that's fine but if not I won't penalty them for it because I knew what they were when I bought it.

Meh ... the only reason I bought the Season 6 Set was because I wanted to see Gohan turn SSJ2 in Japanese again. ha.

I'm glad I picked up the single releases, the only thing that got better here was the encoding.

Though I would totally buy the last disc on its own, the single release macroblocking is depressing, but I might as well spring for the Dragonbox single.

Seriously, I agree.

Goo job on the editing, especially keeping Gohan silent until he explodes.

Shame there's absolutely no way to make the narrator actually not talk so damn much. XD

My thoughts exactly, having Gohan shut the hell up, made such a difference, but it was then ruined by the shitty narration.

Just some more random shots.

This really looks as good as their Double Features, which look dark as well so I assume it is due to their masters and that they seem to have used the same remastering process. Too bad they couldn't have done this to the first 2 seasons.

At least the rest of the series is in good hands.

Also a note: The lines still disappear during the first few episodes, but stop by the 2nd disc I believe.

I know, and this isn't the first time it's shown up in these sets. It was all over the place in Season 4. Shows that the reason for cropping was not to cover up the glue damage.

It's common to see that stuff actually even in the Dragonboxes. Mostly look whenever a frame changes and you'll see it. It's supposed to get cut off by overscan though. Since the season sets are in widescreen they won't get cut off.

I think that was the reason why Funi zoomed in their masters in the first place even though that's stupid since I already said that the glue gets cut off by overscan.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

But still, you can see it on these sets which are zoomed in even slightly more, so if you are correct, then it really didn't work out so well.

Actually, I think the sets are as zoomed out as the Dragon Box, just cropped.

Oh yeah you're right. I just got mixed up for a second. I meant to say that they show even less vertical footage, and you can still see the glue.

Actually, I think they are zoomed out even more than the Dragon Boxes because you can see more horizontal footage.

Well, duh, it's widescreen :)

Well excuuuuuuuuuuuse me Princess!

I'm just saying that they could have zoomed out just as much as the Dragon Boxes and then cropped from there, but instead they zoomed out much more.

Just a few more random shots:

Wait what? The Dragonboxes still have the most footage. These sets do beat out Funi's singles though in terms of footage. Depending on your TV you'll probably be getting the same amount of Footage as the singles since those would have footage getting cut off by overscan.
