I think its because Dende says (in the dub) that "Namekians are grown from those plants you saw outside", or something to that effect. That isn't in the original?

So I can go outside and plant me a few Dendes, Piccolos, and Nails? And after that I'll plant a few Saibamen.

I think that Dende's statement(If original) was a bit unfinished.

That can't be right.

Something there must be wrong with the dub, since it's obvious that Namekian reproduction involves that nasty egg-vomiting, isn't it?

Thats just the Demon Namekians, which is basically just Daimao.

Cargo's his brother. But Dende doesn't have much contact with his homeworld. He's busy being the God of Earth and all that.

It's from katatsumuri, another Japanese word for "snail". Piccolo/Kami's parent Katatsu gets his name from the first half of the word.

They're all brothers (sisters?). Saichourou gave birth to all the current Namekians living on Planet Namek. Dende explains this to Gohan and Kuririn.

Cargo should have been revived when they made the wish to revive all those killed by Freeza and his men, yet he is never shown or talked about again.

Just like Piccolo was the son of Katatsu. The children of Saichorou had at some point started spawning of their own accord. Saichorou was an invalid and Dende/Cargo were pretty young...

This actually brings up the question of family systems in Namek society. Digging around, it appears that the Daizenshuu character guide says both. And we also have Piccolo being the child of Katatsu (an event that obviously happened on Namek). So are these adoptive parents, since Saichorou has better things to do than raise every new kid he spits out?

Maybe Guru/Saichiro created 10(or whatever) nameks first. These became the elders. These elders then went out and started villages, while Saichiro created more nameks, which these elders then raised. And since Muri was Saichiro first(or oldest surviving child) he was selected to be the next Saichiro. Makes sense to me. What do you guys think?

Katats was before the Great Extinction, though. If there's supposed to be a bunch of different clans, then I doubt there's only one Namek allowed to vomit eggs at a time.

Maybe Guru's being the only was just supposed to rush a whole bunch of Nameks out and refill the population?
