Ah yes, Zoids was awesome. Eventually I plan to get the DVDs.

I wish the dub of the series would have aired with the Japanese music though...

My memory's a little sketchy but there were two series that I remember, the one with Liger Zero, and the other one with the Blue tiger zoid and the little dinosaur one. (I'm sorry if I just butchered anyone's memories or childhood)

Edit: That was it, Shield Liger!

Zoids Chaotic Century was the series with Van, Fiona, Zeke (the Organoid), Irvine, and Moonbay. Van used a Shield Liger which became a Blade Liger.

Toonami Digital Arsenal has a really nice collection of the Toonami goodbye message and 4 montages (some with some nice DBZ quotes) and Toonami's awesome "Dreams" AMV (which has some really nice DBZ footage)...all in high quality! :P

I guess you are talking about Zoids, and it just so happens that Toonami Digital Arsenal also has a Zoids downloads section and a Classic Zoids downloads section.

And even though I've made a thread about them before, I just thought that it would be fitting to re-post the links to Toonami Digital Arsenal's DB/DBZ/DBGT commercial and promo download pages since now the block is gone.

Like a lot of people, I had kinda drifted away from Toonami. I ignored the Saturday block... Then I lost my interest with Naruto a good while before all the fillers, and I honestly hadn't watched anything since One Piece was taken off (and even then, that was being recorded on the family Tivo).

I watched the "Goodbye" clip. Even despite that creepy looking TOM, I got a little upset. It's depressing... This integral part of my childhood is dead.

I think I'm probably a little bit younger than most of the Daizex community (17), so I got into Toonami when I was around 8 or 9. It wasn't really a matter of discovering it or it being the place to watch DBZ after it was taken out of syndication... Toonami was just, like, always there. It was bond that I shared with a cousin, and my brother. It was just part of my childhood. This is like the demise of Nicktoons, but 10x worse.

I'm going to have to sit down and just go through Toonami Digital Arsenal... I'm in the mood for a good bit of nostalgia now.

And why am I just now finding out that One Piece was canceled? WTF, Cartoon Network?

I miss good-ole Toonami after school. My friends and I would be the first on the bus! Then we'd be super inpatient, even though my house was a 3-5miles away, until we go off.
As soon as we got to my house, we would turned on the TV.

DBZ was always on, then Tenchi Muyo, and Sailor Moon if I remember right.

Great Times!

I'm 15 and never really got into Cartoon Network (except for Pokemon in '00-'01 like every other first/second grader at the time) despite all of my peers being into it at it's height.

I was ten when I first saw Toonami.
But, like Rambo, I was also on the 2000-2001 Pokemon band-wagon.

Do you also look back on those years and shudder at how much of a "nerdy little kid" you were?

A little bit, but I never really flaunted the fact that I liked that kind of stuff, and I still don't. But anyway I'm only 15 now but I was probably first introduced to DBZ when I was about 10. I was a little behind on the whole DBZ craze but I still remember every minute of the Buu stuff and the Freeza fight.

I let everyone know that I liked Pokemon...when it was cool to like it (which is pretty much when I started and stopped watching it). I didn't get into Dragonball until a little less than 2 years ago, when I was almot 14 and the only thing Toonami showed was an episode of the Cell Arc each Saturday. So if it makes you feel any better I was way behind you when it comes to getting into Dragonball! :)

And I think it's interesting that Toonami still says that they are on Saturdays 9-11 on their official site.

The only time I remember Pokemon being "cool" was in 1st and 2nd grade when the main subject of conversation was what had happened the night before on Pokemon. I still like to check in on Pokemon every once in awhile, mostly just out of curiousity. Kind of like checking up on an old friend.

I was in high school when Pokemon premiered. Liked it as did some of my friends and can still sing the tv sizes of the 4Kids themes. Don't like the new company's cast or theme songs. Then again, 4Kids often makes better theme songs than dubs.

Pokemon cards and video games would get banned in my school because, since they were uber-Christians, they bought into the Pokemon is 'the devils' crap that random people were bringing up at the time.

I was in 4th-7th grade when Pokemon was considered cool. Then again I think I stopped watching because they moved the channel from my network area and because I found Lodoss War .

What are people gonna watch now if they want to see anime though? I know that the kids at least wouldn't be able to buy the DVDs to the things they like because they just couldn't afford them. But this still sucks. Toonami was a gateway for probably all of us here and for CN to treat it the way they did is pretty low.

Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Tom's new design bugged me as well. What happened to make him change into that form? I mean, I assume it was just some "let's redesign the host, again! Rating will skyrocket!"-type thinking from those in charge, but what was the "in-universe" explanation?

Nicktoons are gone now too?! Ah man...Well, it's not like I've watched them for years (hence now knowing of their demise), but still.

They'll head to the internet, I suppose.

Though honestly, I never would've discovered Dragon Ball if the above was the only way to find out about it. I discovered DB through old-school channel-surfing.

NickToons is still around, it's NickGAS they dropped (their "sports" network which reminded me how hilariously campy Legends of the Hidden Temple was X3 ).
On hiatus.

MY school banned Pokemon cards because people would trade their gameboys for cards that were worth FAR less. And kids were getting beat up for cards. And other elementary school garbage.

So maybe your school was better off being paranoid.

Nope! I'm a proud fan.
LOL, in class I had to make an job application. I wanted to make a good one for class, but I got a genius idea!
After making a serious one, I made an application for becoming a Pokemon Master.
Some experience and skills I listed were: I've caught over 500 Pokemon, beaten all the of the gym leaders and elite teams in every region. Never lost a battle!
