Live-action movie trailer

Thank you guys!

I'm hoping that we get tons of trailers like The Dark Knight got, and hopefully at least one of them has the classic trailer voice guy...it just seems like his voice was fit. I just saw Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Hero and their trailers (I'm a big fan of trailers...I went to see the X-Files movie on opening day as apposed to The Dark Knight just because there was a rumor that the Dragonball trailer would be shown there) and the martial arts in this trailer reminded me a lot of the martial arts in those two...which is a good thing to me.

Umm. Don Lafontaine is dead.

As I said, the fighting looks really cool. Very acrobatic and exciting.

Well that just ruined my day. But I still say that someone who can do a decent representation of his trailer voice should have (or already did) narrated this trailer or a future one.

They should get The Rock to do it. With his amazing mic skills he could get ANYBODY hyped for this movie.

Alright that's ridiculous but it would be cool though...to me...

Semi-official word is that he's already voicing Shenlong.

EDIT: Mr. Sabat, that is. Not Dwayne Johnson. Everyone already knows he's gonna play Nappa.

We never saw any kind of romance between Goku and Chi-chi, thats what people are contesting, as for Mary Jane in high school, I was pissed off about it in the movie, and I was pissed off about it in USM, but the fact is that speeding a relationship along by changing the circumstances is one thing, but trying to shoehorn in a lovestory where there isn't one is another.

And I really don't see how the switch from animation to live action is the only "notable" difference, personally I find changing a character's origin from a naieve mountain hick, to a girlfriend stealing highschool super hero to be the main offense, I also think it's ridiculous to insist that a change like that won't have any bearing on Son Goku's character.

I'm not saying that I know this movie is going to be horrible, what I am saying is that at a cursory glance, the only thing the live action movie and the original source material seem to have in common is the title.

EDIT: People actually want Chris Sabat to narrate?, I really don't see him being able to pull that off without it sounding like an infomercial.

Which would be the single greatest point of the movie for me. I don't care who you are, the English Shenlong is awesome and he needs to have his voice in this. It would be totally trippy too

edit- Yes Cap'n I would very much like Sabat voicing my dragon.

I think he'd make a good Vegeta if he wasn't so tall. They're both pretty arrogant.

Vegeta: Well Nappa there are a lot of strong fighters on this planet. Where do you think we should go first?

Nappa: Well I think-

I don't hate Shenlong's English voice, but it's so heavily processed that anyone could do it, I don't see why they need to use Sabat when he's really only half the act.

You make a good point, so I guess I should change it to "the same processed voice" and not necassarily just "Sabat's voice"?

Well Fox still has a few trump cards. The Kamehameha, The Flying, Summoning the Dragon, and Better fights. Hopefully those will blow people away since they neglected to show them.

Goku and Chi-Chi still had a romance and were in love with each other. It was just never deeply delved into or focused on, because that's not Toriyama's thing. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. All the movie is doing differently is having Goku's understanding of it and the mutuality of it happen a little sooner. We know that for the majority of the movie, Chi-Chi is fancying Goku but he's completely oblivious.

They haven't changed Goku's origin. He's still a Saiyan sent to Earth who was meant to destroy but ends up being raised by a kindly old martial artist and saving the world he was meant to demolish.

At the start of the movie, he's just been plopped into an unfamiliar setting. All the news we've gotten have said he's just like the same old naive, noble, somewhat-clueless Goku we all know and love.

And yeah, who better to do the voice of Shenlong than the guy who's been doing it for years? It's like getting Peter Cullen to voice Optimus Prime, just with a little less notability and history.
