Here's a very short summary of a leaked script I found on the web:

"Goku is a shy, weak, loner in a school filled with bullies martial artist's. One day Goku get's beat up and runs to hide in a cave in where he dicorvers a mystical glowing orb. An old man approaches, the keeper of the cave "Master Roshi". He sees Goku's future as he saves the world from ultimate evil. Wittnessing the potential the master trains Goku as one of his student's (which include Yamcha, Bulma).

One day after saving a girl named Chi-Chi from a school bully, Goku falls in love, but he's too afraid to talk to girls. Little does he know that Chi-Chi is a graduated student from Roshis martial arts school. They both get sent on a mission to fing the seven mystic orbs to grant a wish to defeat the evil powers as stated in the prophecy. Turns out that it's Piccolo a devil born in hell and raised by demons on earth, His powers include sould sucking... When Goku finaly confronts Piccolo he is unsure on his skills, and is scared to face the powerfull evil opponent. The dragon balls however grant Goku great strenght which he lacked. Goku defeats Piccolo with a special move - a flame attack.

The story end's with Goku and Chi-Chi forming a family and having two children."

Yeah actually you've got me there, I did too. Maybe we should just be blaming the people who made the trailer by putting together a bunch of fight scenes and corny music.

Yeah, and that's the thing. All we see of the effects is that one motion...it seems much easier to nitpick and point out things like the costumes. Hell, we see more of the yellow car than we do of special effects.

Yeah, and that's the thing. All we see of the effects is that one motion...it seems much easier to nitpick and point out things like the costumes. Hell, we see more of the yellow car than we do of special effects.

That misty vapor shit?

No, I think he meant that one big, green blast that Roshi unleashed about 2/3 into the trailer. The "misty vapors" from the hands look like just kiais.

Early DragonBall, even the Piccolo era didn't have nearly as much in the department of vibrant, fiery auras and launching bright, condensed photon torpedo-like balls of energy compared to Z. Frankly, all I was expecting in this movie was mostly melee kung fu combat, one or two invisible kiais, one or two Kamehame-has, and most likely a big attack from Piccolo.

But no, we're getting Roshi, Piccolo, and Goku all throwing out cool-looking pulses of ki with one hand. Plus, that one shot of Bulma glancing through a huge, smoking hole in a metal wall? ...Yeah.

I'm calling shenanigans on that one.

Obviously it is. It sounds exactly like a summary written by somewhat who dwelled merely on the negative preconceptions of Goku, and ignored just about everything else from the movie to write it.

EDIT: Oh, looks like even the writer said it was fake. Okay, that settles that.

One thing I’ve been wondering about for a little while though; how exactly ARE they going to handle the whole Ki concept, from a story/expositional standpoint. Are they actually going to discuss it and dare I say, even acknowledge it?

Supposedly, one of the most vital things Roshi teaches Goku is how to control and amplify his ki.
