I forgot about the blue haired Saiyan. Vegeta seemed to have been inaccurate about his assessment on full Saiyans only havin black hair.

Not if you're going by the manga.Pain wrote:A plot hole. Don't delve into it.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:I forgot about the blue haired Saiyan. Vegeta seemed to have been inaccurate about his assessment on full Saiyans only havin black hair.
Toei threw in the blue hair to break up the monotony, for all we know it's a humanoid alien wearing Saiya-jin armour and a tail accessory
Vegeta says it after Trunks kills Freeza, when they're waiting for Goku to come back.SaiyaMel wrote:No where did Vegeta say that all Saiyan hair is black, but he did mention that a fullblood Saiyan's hair doesn't grow or change beyond its original length/shape... it it was Toriyama who stated about fullbloods always having black hair.
"Don't you know all Saiyans have black hair?"
It's solid black in the manga, though that could be discounted if Vegeta hadn't said the "all black hair" comment.Bussani wrote:Isn't Vegeta's hair a very dark brown though? Eh, maybe that's just Toei again, like changing Bulma's hair from purple to green.
Besides, if we go by Toei, his hair's bright red.

It could be explained away by saying that someone in the past the Saiyan’s bloodline was tainted via outside sources. Some of the Saiyans that we know today are really of a mixed race variety (hybrids) and in some instances that becomes apparent by the appearance a Saiyan here or there have different hair colors. Just like the Klingons lost, their cranial ridges at one point in the history (see Star Trek Enterprise and TOS) but later they returned in the Next Generation and Deep Space 9 series. The majority of Saiyans have black hair but there are a few that shows up to show that something is out of the norm happened in their past. Even in those images, I posted shows a female Saiyan with blue hair and that was after the Vegeta red hair incident. Mike’s notes from Toriyama concerning his thoughts on how Bardock and his crew should look, Toriyama said that Saiyans hair are generally black but that was not set in stone.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:I forgot about the blue haired Saiyan. The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.
Given Vegeta's disdain/hatred for Gohan and Trunks, and the Saiyan way of killing someone you don't like.... I really doubt hybrid Saiyans would be allowed to live, especially not on planet Vegeta and especially not in the King's personal corps.Saiyan-Professor wrote:It could be explained away by saying that someone in the past the Saiyan’s bloodline was tainted via outside sources. I believe that his dislike for Son Gohan and Trunks was because they were stronger than he was on some occasions. Then we do not know what the Saiyans attitude were back then, since they love the concept of power and strength then they might have respected and accepted them as long as they were not stronger than the king (look what happened to Broli and he was a full blood Saiyan).Rocketman wrote:Given Vegeta's disdain/hatred for Gohan and Trunks, and the Saiyan way of killing someone you don't like.... Gohan and Trunks were never stronger than Vegeta except for Trunks going SSJ vs Freeza, that brief period with U2SSJ, and Gohan's SSJ2 at the Cell Games. (And Mystic Gohan, but Vegeta didn't know about that until after the Saga ends.)Saiyan-Professor wrote:I believe that his dislike for Son Gohan and Trunks was because they were stronger than he was on some occasions. I said on “some occasions” and if you take into account, Dragonball GT Vegeta surpassed Son Gohan because even if he kept up his training he would not progress at all. He would just maintain his Buu Saga combat strength.Rocketman wrote:Gohan and Trunks were never stronger than Vegeta except for Trunks going SSJ vs Freeza, that brief period with U2SSJ, and Gohan's SSJ2 at the Cell Games. He hated Son Gohan because he was Kakarrot’s son who in turn he felt was a traitor to the Saiyan race. It was primarily a prejudice inspired the fact that hybrids had a power advantage. Remember the conversation with Nappa at the beginning of the Saiyan story arc concerning super Saiyans.Rocketman wrote:Yes, but Vegeta's disdain for the half breeds happens before all of those occasions, except for Trunks killing Freeza. And he immediately hates Trunks afterwards.Saiyan-Professor wrote:I said on “some occasions”

If that were true, Vegeta wouldn't have said that Trunks absolutely couldn't be a Saiyan because of his hair color.Saiyan-Professor wrote:It could be explained away by saying that someone in the past the Saiyan’s bloodline was tainted via outside sources. I am not saying that was the case I was just speculating but just like, with the Klingons eventually those external changes reverted to the original state. Therefore, the cranial ridges was the norm once again. However, according to some Star Trek sources like novels etc., there was some none cranial ridged Klingons still around but they were few and isolated. So when they were seen by the general populace they did not believe them to be Klingons or they pulled a Worf and said that they do not talk about that part of their past. They believed them to be an embarrassing aspect of their history. So theoretically speaking and if that was the case with Saiyans it wouldn’t be strange for Vegeta to make that statement.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:If that were true, Vegeta wouldn't have said that Trunks absolutely couldn't be a Saiyan because of his hair color.Saiyan-Professor wrote:It could be explained away by saying that someone in the past the Saiyan’s bloodline was tainted via outside sources.
