Fights that never happened (but should have)

..Woah. Wait a second. The "Chamber of Commerce" line is from way back in the original run, before they allowed themselves to say "dead", "die", "kill", or "killed". Don't tell me they actually KEPT that afterwords.
I could be wrong, but I think this was at the start of FUNi's Season 3. I'm pretty sure Freeza's exact line was "The Chamber is dead ...". If my DVD drive wasn't broken I'd doublecheck... :(.
(This was also around the time Freeza did his "Breath that'll kill ya!" on the Namekians that came to help Nail...)

1. Well I always wanted to see, at the very least a proper skirmish between Roshi and Shen, maybe in a flashback.

2.Remember when Gohan brought Videl home for the first time, and she started bickering with Chichi, would have been fun to see that turn physical. :p

3. Can't help but wonder how Ubu would hold up against, adult Goten, or adult regular time-line Trunks.

....Maybe if it's Saiyan arc Vegeta VS. Cell arc Yamcha, it wouldn't quite turn out like that. :)

Definitely closer to more, I'd say. I wonder which fight Goku was more outmatched in, Mr. Popo or the first Tao Pai Pai battle.

Mr.Popo vs Kid Buu

But really there are a lot of great fight match-ups. Personally, going off early comments, I'd like to see a rematch between Goku and Vegeta at the very end of Dragonball Z, although it wouldn't be deadly serious like the other two. Ofcourse this wish seems to sort of been granted in the new special but still...
A rematch between Goku and Uub, after the training, would also be good (and I don't mean that crappy 2 minute one at the start of GT).

Where is it said that King Vegeta has a PL of 10,000? All we know is that its beneath 18,000.

I was pretty sure they said that during the Bardock Special.
The part where Bardock is recovering in water-healing-chamber thing.

That's Bardock's PL, not the king's.

I think in the dub, the doctors say that Burdock has/was going to surpass the king, so he might be thinking of that. But that's just the dub.

Gohan/Goten [especially goten] versus Uub/Majuub.

At the end of z to the start of Gt; Uub kind of stole goku away from his family again.

There hasnt to be a grudge there.

They were so used to Son being gone for any reason at all... I doubt that would have become a big issue. Goten barely even knows his father enough to care methinks.

And Gohan, while he was obviously close to Goku through age 4 and continued to look up to him...

...well.

Wasn't Piccolo more of a father figure to Gohan than Goku was?

He lived with his father from the age of 7 to his late teens. I think that he would care, and that he would know his father well by that time.

I am rather surprised at the number of people who want to see completely one-sided fights.

Majuub is effectively Super Buu, guys. Why do you want the pathetically weak Goten to try to fight him?
Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:Wasn't Piccolo more of a father figure to Gohan than Goku was?
I dispute this. Gohan spends four years with Goku, then half a year with Piccolo. After the wild month vs the Saiyans and Freeza, he goes home and doesn't interact with either. Then he trains for three years with both, then he trains of one year with Goku. Then the next seven years he's at home. Then Goku comes back after Buu is defeated until Uub shows up.

Goku - 18 years. (Three shared with Piccolo)
Piccolo - 3.5 years. (Three shared with Goku)

Chichi is more of a father figure to Gohan than anyone.

I dispute your dispute.

-The amount of the time Gohan spends wearing clothes that mick Piccolo's shows the amount of impact that Piccolo has made on Gohan's life.

-The Masenko. The "Demon Flash", or however you translate that, is named with some obvious Piccolo inspiration.

-Piccolo WAS alive during all those times that Goku was dead. This IS conjecture, but it's still likely that Gohan would see Piccolo during those long stretches of time that Goku was dead. At least, more likely than Gohan spending any time with Goku.

-Further, a good majority of those first 4 years...can't be counted as shaping Gohan as a person. He was an infant, and probably can't remember more than the latest bits of that by the time he's grown.

-When it came to domestic life, Goku was extremely overpowered by Chichi. Chichi definitely took up a good chunk of time that Goku was alive and home with studying and other overly-protective mother things. It can be argued, even, that Goku's RoSaT time with Gohan is the first real long and continuous amount of father-son time that the two had up to that point.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I've skimmed through every page in this post and yet no one has mentioned Future Trunks vs. Vegeta?! For shame. It was a fight that was itching to happen but it never did. During the Cell Saga, Trunks pretty much found out that his father was super ass, not to mention the daddy issues during the time they spent in the Chamber. I was extremely disappointed when the fight never happened, just imaging watching Star Wars Empire: Strikes back and the fight between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker never happen...Wow did I just mention Star Wars? Oops my nerdy side just showed a little.

Anyway fights I would've loved to see:
Future Trunks vs. Vegeta (for reasons mentioned above)
Videl vs. Chichi (Just because)
Goku Jr. vs. Vegeta Jr. (I know this have already happened but I like to believe Vegeta Jr. won)
SSJ4 Goku vs. SSJ4 Vegeta (And then the universe will explode)
