Game Boy Advanced Dragonball-- Where to start?

Post by Stridex » Sun Nov 02, 2008 11:21 am

I'm well behind in the world of handhelds, having just nabbed myself a Gameboy Advance. Obviously I need to have SOMETHING Dragonball/Z in my arsenal, but I don't know where to start. Looked at a lot of reviews, but Dragonball is so decisive I find that some reviewers flunk a title simply for being DB related, while some fans seem willing to play awful games simply to be Goku.

What are the best Gameboy Advance DB/Z games? Games that are good games in and of themselves (be they RPG, fighter, whatever), and also happen to give a strong portrayal of the characters we love?

Thanks for any input.

Dragonball Advance Adventure is a great little side scrolling game you might want to pick up, it's got a lot of replay value, due to it's unlockable characters, and the fighting system is really fun.
Supersonic Warriors is also a fun little game, there's a sequel, but it's on DS, so you'll have to stick with the inferior game for now.
Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury are also 2 great RPGs, featuring music and lines right from the show (the dub show bare in mind, but it's still cool).
Avoid games such as Taiketsu, or that.. Trading Card thing, or the original Legacy of Goku, they all suck.
Good luck grabbing the former games I mentioned, and have fun!

Advance Adventure is good stuff.

While Legacy of Goku 1 and GT Transformations aren't good, you can usually find them bundled with Legacy 2 and Buu's Fury, which are - so just get them all and you'll have the whole story from beginning to the end of Baby in GT.

Supersonic Warriors is a fun little title, but it gets old faster than a console fighter. You'll definitely play it for all the what-if story modes, though. They're just plain nuts.

Advanced Adventures is the best DB game on the GBA.

Taiketsu is an embarsment to DB

Super Sonic Warriors is a lot of fun. Its a basic fighter but still entertaining.

Transformations is actually a lot of fun. It is remenicent of Golden Axe (great game).

Then there are the legacy of Goku games that are pretty good. Buus Fury is long as shit.

Basically, Taiketsu is the only bad game, I own them all except of that one.

Oops I forgot the card game, its ehhhh.

Honestly, these games are so cheap used that you could easily pick them all up and not put too big of a dent in your wallet.

Hoped this helped

I think that Supersonic Warriors 1 is better than 2 on the DS but thats just me.

Buus Fury's main title is the SSJ3 Powerup MIDI style :P

Dragonball Advance Adventure
Legacy of Goku 2
Buu's fury and Super Sonic Warriors.
Those are the top of the top in my opinion.

For my money, Advance Adventures is not only the best DB game on the gameboy advance, but one of the best DB games ever. It's just got great gameplay and tons and tons of replay value. Supersonic Warriors is right behind it. Simple but fun gameplay, unique abilities for almost every character, and really great "what-if" stories.

I totally second that one.

This is an old game (GBC), but Legendary Super Warriors was a pretty cool game. It's a card based battle game, but pretty robust.
