So with you there. I can't bear listening to Bruce Faulconer's BGM anymore, Shunsuke Kikuchi's will always be the best, the god of Dragonball & Z BGM. Mark Menza is good, found his pieces much better than Faulconers but Shunsuke's is unchallengable.Tsukento wrote:I can. Simply because that "music" represents a fake Dragon Ball Z.DBHighDefinition wrote:No one can resist Bruce "almighty" Faulconer. XD

To people jumping to conclusions about quality: THESE IMAGES ARE JPEGS FOR GOD'S SAKE! Wait until you get a .png.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Again, thanks for the SSj2 Gohan clip.
Think we can get one of the Paikuhan fight (same audio)?![]()

I understand Funimation has done some things to Dragon Ball that make it pretty different from the Original but to say something as dramatic as "Oh their two different shows" is taking shit way outta the box. They both have the same amount of episodes, the same characters, and now they even have the same music. Cell crushes 16's head in the dub just like he does in the Japanese version. The show is called Dragon Ball Z over here just like it is over there. When people ask "Oh do you watch Dragon Ball Z" nobody answers "Which one? You know there's 2 right?" they answer "Why yes I do watch Dragon Ball Z."
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

The story is what makes the show...and the story presented in each version don't match each other.Chrono Trigger wrote:I understand Funimation has done some things to Dragon Ball that make it pretty different from the Original but to say something as dramatic as "Oh their two different shows" is taking shit way outta the box. The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I really don't see how. If I'm watching the DVD's and I switch back and forth between the languages the same stuff is happening. The show isn't cut up anymore so you can literally watch them side by side. If I'm talking to a dub only fan and a Japanese only fan and ask them "Yeah how about the episode where Trunks shows up for the second time and flies off to meet Piccolo and the others who are fighting Gero?" they would both know what I'm talking about. If I asked how long they trained to fight the androids they'd both be able to tell me 3 years.

As a matter of fact, when people ask me that, I do indeed respond with, "yeah, the Japanese version. English one's terrible."Chrono Trigger wrote:When people ask "Oh do you watch Dragon Ball Z" nobody answers "Which one? You know there's 2 right?" they answer "Why yes I do watch Dragon Ball Z."
To which they respond with, "Really?" And then I reply with, "Yeah, it was originally a kind of deep and often dramatic show, but the American version got turned into typical Saturday-morning kiddie junk." Which usually gets a response of "Huh, interesting," or something similar.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Ok. I understand all of that. I feel like you and SSj Kaboom are in the minority though. Maybe on your level of conversation (with all the little details and shit) they are two different shows but the same shit still happens in both versions. I can go through the story from Raditz to Buu and it's still the same thing! Yeah maybe a few times somebody said something different, maybe Goku was a little too chatty and sophisticated, and maybe Vegeta had a little too much pride but they are still the same show. I've never heard anyone (on other forums or in real life) say "Yeah I like the Original Japanese Version of Dragon Ball Z and not the English Bastardized Funimation Version. People just like "Dragon Ball". The Live Action Movie! That is what I think of when I think of a "Completely" different story.Kunzait_83 wrote: *Long Post*

For the love of God, do we really have to turn the Season 7 thread into yet another dub argument?

Eh, don't misunderstand me. I'm kind of in the middle. I realize full well the dub has its flaws, but so long as I have the choice to watch whichever version I want //tips hat to FUNi//, I can usually enjoy the dub in its own way. Part of it may be for nostalgic reasons and a subsequent "attachment" to the cast, but it's mostly because I don't really care so long as I have the Japanese version anyway. So let's just say I don't mind the dub, but I probably wouldn't pay for a release that ONLY includes the dub.Chrono Trigger wrote:I feel like you and SSj Kaboom are in the minority though.
I'm looking forward to watching Season Seven with the 5.1 dub track on, with the subs for the Japanese version so I can compare dialogue. The Buu arc was what got me into DragonBall altogether, and I'm gonna have a blast watching through it again, regardless of which language.
It happens, dude. Chill. You're the only one being somewhat uncivil about it so far.jjgp1112 wrote:For the love of God, do we really have to turn the Season 7 thread into a dub argument?
