Tenshinhan is not a human?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Pretty much the same thing, that they have a battle power of 1,200, "comparable to a low-level fighter".

Even Master Roshi was scared when Tenshinhan grew the extra set of arms. I believe that Roshi even said out loud, "What is he?" or something along those lines.

I'm guessing all this is an expansion on a joke answer given (in the DB-era) in a Shonen Jump FAQ or something.

O'course, I have absolutely nothing to base this on. :P

I''ve seen it said that it's a reference to Osamu Tezuka's manga The Three-Eyed One, though I don't know if that assertion is based on anything either.

Well, the name of the alien species is exactly the same. But I guess it could be a coincidence...

1977 for The Three-Eyed One and mid-80s for Tenshinhan... Definitely possible. The fact that it's one of Tezuka's most popular shonen characters makes it even more likely, too.
