If anyone is having trouble finding the "Watch Anime" button... I think I know why.
This morning I couldn't find it, and people were telling me its right there in the middle of the page. Still I couldn't find it. This is what I saw:

As you can see, it's actually not there. But everyone was telling me it was. This was really pissing me off. Someone actually gave me a link to "Watch Anime" in the chat room so, I forgot about this problem and moved on. But now I see people posting similar problems...
Long story short... I was using AOL. for some reason this button wasn't showing up when I opened it in AOL. I tried opening it in Internet Explorer and it was fine. So if you have this problem, try that...

Hopefully not. I want their servers to be maxed out for weeks. And I want the DVD to sell out in record speed. The fans need to show there's still a monstrous demand for more Dragon Ball.Kienzan88gt wrote:The funny thing about all this is, it's only the first day of it being streamed online. After a few days or weeks, it shouldn't be lagging for anyone lol.
Meh, I prefer light hearted Dragonball.jjgp1112 wrote:No, just more action/seriousness. I've been spoiled by DBZRaki wrote:What, only Goku getting offense?jjgp1112 wrote:Yeah, it was great. I would've preferred if it were styled like the DBZ Movies, but still, great.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Simply fantastic is all I can say. I actually loved the light-hearted mood and feel of the special. Way too many awesome comedic instances; I absolutely loved the scene with Roshi copping a feel in the midst of saving a few damsels in distress. Priceless. My only gripe with the special would have to be the absence of Chaozu and Tenshinhan (unless he made some one-second appearance and I missed it.) , otherwise I absolutely loved it all the way through.
In hopeful wishing, I'd love it if Toei put together an insanely epic feature-lengthed animated film as a 'final farewell' in the near future.
I seriously cannot wait until FUNi releases this film on Home Video.

If you go to plot summary first, the button is there for some reason. I was confused too.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:If anyone is having trouble finding the "Watch Anime" button... I think I know why.

Edit: Thanks for the tip, Castor Troy. I just tried it on my laptop and, while laggy, it's at least doing something.

I'm waiting for the movie to stop pausing, I'm guessing it's a buffer problem with millions of people like us around the globe clicking the link...Kienzan88gt wrote:Anyone capable of recording the whole audio for this special? Kei17 told me, he can record the whole special in video form, but his pc won't record the audio correctly.
I hear the curses of others with the same problem through the speakers on my screen and the tapping and banging of keyboards on desks and being thrown against the wall...
I'm still so totally psyched mind, I just ran around my downstairs jumping up and down like a complete lunatic! WOW!
- Managed to see the intro, waiting for the remaining to buffer. I have my doubts that my slow crappy PC will manage, I may have a long wait ahead...
SORRY FOR THE EDIT: Please someone clever and intelligent... Somehow make a video copy of this and post it somewhere nobody else but Daizex members will know!!! I'm too stupid to know how to.. Please help this very unhappy innocent and large breasted female...

This was epic.
I can't believe Roshi pulled out a radish shaped like a woman's body.
Vegeta was kinda out of character when he was bowing to Grey, but it was still funny.
I like how Goku and Vegeta's rivalry was put into play.
This is one of the best Dragon Ball related stories made by Mr. Toriyama.
Now off to watching the One Piece special and listening to Episode 152 of the podcast.

Oh, boy....so exciting to see new Dragonball material after so many years! When the special first came out a couple months ago, I immediately starting seeking out summaries, but once I read part of one, I decided that, rather than know everything about the special before seeing it as I had with the Dragonball series itself, I would wait to see it and enjoy being surprised by it. So even though I knew the basic plot outline, almost all of the gags were new to me, and I think that made it so much more enjoyable
I watched it a couple hours ago, and I seemed to avoid most of the problems that others seem to be having (it lagged a little for a few seconds, but then kept playing just fine). At first, I was a little put off by the animation....being used to the old animation, it looked too shiny and new, almost "artificial". But I got used to it quickly. And there were a few things that kind of bugged me....Table looks WAY too young considering how old he should be (has to be in his thirties, but looks like a teenager....I know Saiyans age slow, but none of the others were that young looking at that age). As an earlier post mentioned, Grey was pretty pointless. Really, the only notable thing she did was get a funny reaction out of Vegeta (and, though it was funny, I thought his reaction was out of character....since when did Vegeta become a proper Japanese man who bows politely?) And, as also noted already, the subtitles were sometimes a little weird, and didn't always completely translate what was being said (though nothing of real significance was left out).
But that's just pointless bitching. It's the first substantial new Dragonball material we've gotten in over a decade, so of course I loved it! The character interactions, especially between Gokuu and Vegeta, are great....loved how they were always competing against each other, even when it came to who would eat the most
Gotenks using the Wolf Fang Fist was a bit unexpected, since he tended to use more comical techniques (so his use of Tenshinhan's volleyball attack was very fitting). Overall, I just got a very joyful feeling while watching it, and what more can I ask for out of a series that has already given me over a decade of happiness?
Oh, and long radish is looooooooooooooooong

I just finished watching the special. I tried it on three computers before one would buffer somewhat well. The computer I finally watched the special on still paused and locked up every five minutes, at which point I'd have to pause it and tap my fingers for awhile before it'd play.
I gotta say, it was awesome. I mean, I would have liked for Gotenks to use his own attacks, perhaps new ones, but other than that I really can't think of anything to make this special better, unless Gotenks actually finished off Abocado with a Super Saiyan 3 transformation.
It was fun, I loved it, and I'll likely watch it again. This was really Dragon Ball as I know and love it.

Geeze, how did I miss that? But I guess that's why I thought her character design was so cool.Dayspring wrote:-The design of the girl from Kajika was used as the girl reporter. EDIT: though not her clothes, which makes me wonder why they didn't dress her like a reporter. IE: formal.

*wipes year from eye*
It was... beautiful. That was SO worth the wait for the online upload and then the horrible lag I had to experience. Had I not just seen WALL-E for the first time last night, I would have said this was the best piece of animation I've seen in months. There was an absolute perfect balance of humor and action, the music was great to hear again, and it's great to see the return of a script that's classic DragonBall in every way. If I could choose one word to best describe this special, it would be "charming", no doubt about it.
I was laughing the entire way through. Honestly laughing. And I knew everything that was going to happen beforehand, even. The new "Head-Cha-La" animation had me grinning from ear to ear. It was great seeing everybody again, though Kaio-sama and a few others had way less screentime than I expected (like, one appearence in the background).
I quite like the approach the writers took to Goku and Vegeta's rivalry, making it less serious and more humorous, a quality that we only got a slight glimpse of in the Boo Saga. I find the concept of Vegeta trying to beat Goku in simple everyday tasks instead of an actual fight not only provides a bigger emotional payoff for the audience (cuz it's so darn funny), but more realistic as well. I like the idea of Vegeta trying to defeat Goku through his children as well (poor Trunks, though).
Vegeta stole the show, in hindsight. He's not only funnier, but more polite (his formal pleasantries with Gure were hilarous). I love how he's more laid-back, yet is still stressed about everything. It's a fine line, and I thought it was done perfectly.
I was actually afraid that this special would suffer from the general shortcomings that are associated nowadays with anime: incredibly lazy character animation that results in nothing but limited movement, characters looking like cardboard, and "talking heads" being the only motion. That looked like it was going to come true for the first act, but when Abo and Cado arrived, the animation took a huge step up in quality. Goten/Trunks vs. Abo/Cado was just so amazingly choreographed and well-animated that I dropped that impression instantly. Kudos to Toei for putting forth the effort. That's not to say it was perfect. Characters were frequently off-model (I don't think they ever got Videl right, sadly), but it was a praiseworthy effort, especially the fight scenes.
I love how Aka's attacks were colored. That's how ki blasts should be animated.
Biggest goosebumps moment: definitely Aka's final attack scene. The music that played is one of my favorite Kikuchi pieces, and the hotel being destroyed was the perfect "okay, we're not joking around anymore" cue. Of course, the best part of the scene was when the minor characters chose to get off their butts and contribute. Kuririn's my favorite character, so seeing him throw off his formal clothes, reveal his Cell Saga gi, and fire a Kienzan (complete with awesome echo effect and everything) into the huge part of the building that almost crushed #18 and Marron was almost therapeutic in how good it made me feel. As if that weren't enough, seeing Yamcha do the same thing with his clothes and Sokidan the huge amounts of debris into rubble, along with Yajirobe and Roshi getting minor parts to shine as well (Roshi's was HILARIOUS) seriously made me want to jump out of my seat, punch the air, and scream "YYYEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!!". I haven't gotten an adrenaline rush like that from a movie/special/whatever since I saw Yoda take out his lightsaber to fight Dooku in Attack of the Clones (the only saving grace of that poor film, but that's beside the point).
Mazako Nozawa yelling out the first non-convention/video game Kamehameha in over a decade was great as well.
And Mr. Satan even learned a lesson in the end. Cute.
It might be the excitement still working its charm, but I honestly think this is better than over half of the official feature films. It was just a treat to watch, from beginning to end. I wish we'd get one of these every year, but even this was a blessing. I know what I'm thankful for this holiday week.
Even if you hate Goten and Trunks, this is worth a viewing for Maid-Oolong alone.
