Oh god. That actually kind of synced well in some parts. Sort of.

Not THAT well. That song does not go well with ANYTHING. EVER.

I think I'm going to vomit.

There were some parts that matched up well, except of the fact that the actual song sucked. If it weren't supposed to be a GT them and you get rid of the lyrics, the instrumentation of the GT rap is a good song by itself.

Ahaha. That was an interesting effort. It did seem to match up okay with some scenes. (except for the 42 seconds that the song was completely absent...) Hopefully, we can say goodbye to the rap with these GT box sets. Well, for the 'Dub with Japanese Audio option at least. But I wonder if they will edit 'Grand tour' to fit the video for the 'Dub with Broadcast Audio' track...? Or the song may disappear from the DVDs completely. :)

I wouldn't mind a DAN DAN instrumental, as mentioned earlier, ala the Budokai 2 and 3 openings in the American Releases.

Now hold it for a minute...

Are you saying that the American releases of FUNimation DVDs got one video track regardless of the audio?!

I have the first volume of GT released by MADMAN, and when I choose the language track before playing an episode, the opening plays is either DAN DAN or Grand Tour depending on the choise, even the title card, ending and next episode preview switchs between the Japanese audio and the dub.

Same thing with the movies ((MADMAN)), the title card switchs between the English title and the original Japanese title based on the audio track you choose before playing the movie.

No, the original US releases also have the alternate angles, it's the new season set/double feature releases that have done away with them.

Remember that Funi used Dan Dan in Path to Power so there is hope.

Whahah (no ha) it really sucked, but maybe when I get my own box and have the better quality version, I will like it more. I don't understand why people take so much time for a few screencaps ( no offence). It's just I would've posted screenshots right away.

So any volunteers ( Guess not , after the bashing lol )

Friend of mine sent me this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpOG2VN9GGk

Apparently, FUNi translated “Dan Dan” but rescored it (and replaced the logo). Interesting result… not sure why they felt that was necessary, but it’s certainly a LOT better than what it was.

...holy...shit...

it's accurate, it sounds ... good?! They put ???Effort??? into it?! I have no reason to question the validity of this link, though if anyone here can confirm, that would be awesome.

Does anyone know if the ending song (which I can't spell) was dubbed as well?

Yes, two endings are, Hitori Janai's sung by a woman instead of using a male like the original Japanese version had though.

Funi did a pretty good job with it actually, I'm just not a huge fan of the guy's voice. I always quite liked the Ocean dub's intro, even if it changed the lyrics / lyrical structure rather significantly; http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-Kb3up4O5o4

We never did get that 'Grand Tour' rap rubbish over here, thankfully.
