Glad to see more and more folks out there "getting it."

Well, the trailer did nothing for me. I really doubt I will see this. Isn't this coming around the time of the Watchmen? Yeah, I'd rather watch that adaptation than this. It's that the movie seems to far gone from the source material, and it just doesn't click with me. I've watched Dragon Ball since 95, and I guess my expectations just are not met. This is why I can understand people that do. I wish the movie luck, and hopefully beats the crap out of the Street Fighter Movie at the Box Office.

It's funny that you would edit Chow Fat into a football player like that, with the Heisman Trophy presentation tomorrow and everything. Good timing

Let’s play FighterZ

I counter your supportive article;

Painful to watch
Dragonball trailer looks like Dragon crap
Yeah, it sucks
A new kind of stupid

So, are we done using someone else's opinion to try to bolster our own?

Wtf? I was just posting an article.

And notice how 90% of all hate is because Vegeta or some other DBZ character isn't in the trailer.

It is absolutely impossible to please these so called "fans" because they aren't really fans of the show. They're just fans of DBZ.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

Just saying, you seemed to have missed a few that didn't share your opinion.

For what it's worth, I don't read the 'comment' sections, and was mostly referring to the articles themselves... Though, you're right.. the people in the comments don't seem to like it much either...

And yes, I am trying to ignore the 'they're not really fans' angle, as even stepping foot into that argument's grounds will start something that can never end well.

Wait. What?

I'm not trying to pick on you. I'm really not. But, I really don't understand this. To me, it came out as, "These guys don't like Dragonball Z. They just like Dragonball Z."

I don't get it.

Yeah, but with all the aliens and such, plus with how they're trying to "hardcore" it up with Goku's trendy clothing and all that dark stuff, it pretty well could be passed off as something that Dragonball Z dub fans would like.

It's really funny how that worked out. And this is sincerely not a jab against you, but my experience in general.
Those of us complaining that the movie isn't lighthearted and childish enough are told it's just an attempt to make it more like DBZ.
Where as DBZ fans are bashed for expecting the movie to be more like DBZ and told it's not, it's Dragonball.

Was it really such a good idea to give the Dragonball movie a DBZ tone?

And then there's the folks who'll dismiss both sides as saying there's no difference, it's all Dragonball.

Either way you go, someone will be there to tell you you're wrong. *Shrug*

That's my point. There's no "RIGHT" way to do a DB movie. SOMEONE is going to say "you're wrong."

Yeah, all the Dragonball Nazis will be out in force telling you how this is nothing like the cartoon,
Yes, because complaining about an adaptation is quite similiar to genocide, if you tilt your head a little and squint.
Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?
Sometimes, I tweet things
We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Uh, what? I'm not pleased because this movie does not resemble DRAGON BALL. Not Z. The original. I'm a fan of the original and expected a somewhat decent adaption. This doesn't resemble the series in any shape or form.

And once again, you're spinning the film's quality by throwing the blame on the people who hate what they're seeing.

And it's my honest opinion that when any time someone calls the movie into question, you manage to come up with a new excuse to try to keep anyone from making any negative comments about it.

Someone would say:

"WTF It worked in the anime but not in real life this is retarded!"

First off, I am talking about the characters personalities. Secondly, with all the sci-fi action un-realistic stuff out there. A proper DragonBall is not a far cry.

Watchmen looks fantastic but the creator of the comic still doesn't like it.

You have to admit no matter what, people are going to complain.

Thing is, a lot of people, like myself, don't think that you're wrong. To me, this isn't about you or anyone else. I don't want to see this movie because it doesn't resemble the manga enough. It's the same as me not wanting to watch the dub of Dragonball Z. It doesn't resemble the original Japanese version enough. However, I don't hold it against anyone who likes the dub. Just like that scenario, I don't hold it against anyone that would like to see this movie.

So, when I say that I don't want to see this movie and cite reasons why, I'm saying that the movie is wrong, not you or anyone else who isn't bothered by such things.

I mean, dub fans, fans of the original, fans of the VIZ manga, and fans of the original manga have been getting along for a long time. Also, nowadays, fans of the FUNi remastered edition and fans of the Dragonbox or other remastered editions are even mostly getting along nowadays.

Why do we have to take it personally?
