BTW, I'm pretty sure I have karaoke versions of all the DBGT songs... I have the CD singles...

Tsukento obvisoulsy hasn't releised that I made an account here as my more common username of ThegreatPirateKing XD So yeah, i'm PirateBeck.

So ripping the singing by itself you ask? Was actually incredibity easy. As I posted in the music forum: "The Opening and Endings have a really werid way of encoding that has the singing in the front channel and music in the other channels. This means you can get singer-only versions of these songs. I've already given these to Tsukento and he's made improved creditless versions on his new YT account: http://www.youtube.com/user/DragonUniverse If you want mp3s of just the singers, I'll happily upload them for you"

So yeah, anyone could actually get these really easy, didn't require any actual effort from what I usually do.

I also noted that someone said something about Instrumental tracks? Yeah, if you like very hearable vocals imburied in the music, it's an instrumental indeed XD

Also, could you guys sample my rips of the songs. You can listen and download them from here: http://www.esnips.com/web/FUNimationDra ... shDubSongs and they have been ripped at 320Kbps from the 6 channel audio track. I would like you to at least listen since this was the main reason I bought these XD

For fun, I merged Vic singing with the German Instruemental of the song: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tVhJccjDH0E&fmt=18 There's an mp3 download link in the description! Enjoy!

I really wanna put something together for the podcast episode before tomorrow...

Would anyone with this new set be able to rip me a VOB (preferably cut, since I don't need a whole episode) containing the opening theme?

EDIT: Nevermind. Got everything I need :D.

I own every episode of GT on dvd. I do not think GT is the best series but I enjoyed it for what it was. However after seeing the news page on this site and the video and seeing the new opening I have to to buy GT again. My old dvd's I will likely give away to a friend or something.

The new opening is the only reason i'm buying them. Damn them to hell for making me want to buy what I already have who do they think they are George Lucas?

Still as much as I love that new opening I would sell my soul to get official dvds of the GT dub that was shown here on tv with Gil not Giru or what ever his name is in that version, His voice was less annoying too in it as was pan's. Plus I LOVE this opening :

Keep your old DVDs. They have the Japanese next episode previews on them.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

This may be weird, but I think I love the german instrumentals more than the English and the Japanese versions. :)

Any chance you could put the Japanese lyrics onto the German instrumentals? :D

I guess this topic is pretty much settled because of the pod-cast.

I hate to say it but I prefer the rap song they originally had in the dub. I just have to skip over the opening whenever I'm watching this set.

GT takes an incredible amount of getting used to. I forgot how drastic the change from Z to GT was. Also, strange as this might sound, GT seems really dated. DB and Z have a timeless quality and GT doesn't.

Hey, I wonder one thing. Can you listen to the BGM and sound effects without any dubs? Because that would make it perfect for making fandubs...

I finished watching the set the other day. I think that the animation was pretty good and consistant, unlike Z which constantly switches between Really Good, OK, Bad, and Horrible. I only really listen to the Original BGM when watching the sets unless it's a part I remember and really like.

The only part of the experience which is bad it how they handle the story and fighting. For the story, the first few episodes are kinda wonky and I can see why FUNi decided to skip them and do the whole Lost Episodes thing. The fighting is good but having them struggle with things that we know they could handle in Z is really frustrating. Especially when they do a lot of the fighting in base form when if they are having such a hard time they should totally transform.

The way I've come to terms is by assuming that the writers decided to think of Super Saiyan as what it probably should have been in the first place: A power-up that you use when you are really in a bind, and need that extra boost.

Over all, GT is not as bad as what people try to make it seem. It's just a continuation of the story, but not eactly the same as you remember Z.

For the most part. At least as far as I care. I think Super saiyan got used far too much (Not the forms but the actual usage). I feel that we could have used less of it in the second half of Z.

I also meant to add in my earlier post that I liked that they had to struggle against beings that should not have been any problem. It made the series feel more balanced, but It disregards the fact that these characters should be the most powerful beings in the universe.

What's weird though, is that Son can retain Super Saiyan without struggle and he tends to fade in and out of it during battle.

Then there's his fight against Freeza and Cell... >_>

Super Saiyan in GT seems to work like it does in the Legacy of Goku games and a lot of the other video games: a decent but not earth-shattering increase in power that runs out fairly quickly.

Without a doubt, the worst thing about Dragonball GT, in my opinion.

Man, I hate how that fight turned out. :x
