Ah yes, those were the older-style fatpacks, the ones that had normal DVD cases inside the boxes instead of big DVD cases with a bajillion hinges.

Season 1: Raditz, Vegeta and Nappa
Season 2: Uh, the Fucking Ginyu Force!
Season 3: Freeza is fine, but maybe with SSJ Goku.

Season 5: Piccolo and Imperfect Cell
Season 6: SSJ2 Gohan and Perfect Cell

No thank you, otherwise it would be too much like their One Piece Voyage boxset artwork with multiple characters clogging up the sets.

It's good that they continued the single character per boxset style since unlike One Piece they would have to use the same character again and again in the next set. Just look at the Voyage sets currently have already had Luffy on every cover x3

Atleast the covers for One Piece appear as though there was more effort put into them. Since FUNi had already decided to go with the 'one character image per box set cover', with the Dragonball franchise, I wish they would've made it appear a little more creative. As they've done so with the Yu Yu Hakusho sets.

At FUNimation, they seem to be under the impression that the majority of Dragonball fans in America don't really care about stuff like awesome cover art and superb image quality.

And, for the most part, I think they're right.

I don't believe in the curse. I think it's all smoke and mirrors. If fans in general cared more, then we'd be more likely to get the kind of stuff that Spain's getting.

I don't know man! When I found out they dubbed Dan Dan AND 2 endings for GT it was like a smack in the mouth for me. Why couldn't they just do the same thing for Cha La Head Cha La and We Gotta Power? All these other shows get near flawless releases but Z somehow always gets screwed over. It's a god damn shame.

It's pretty stupid how they managed to restore both the original endings but they can't restore the openings. For the people that want to listen to the original BGM, it makes no sense to include an American opening.

I actually have a theory about that one.

The reason Dragonball GT got such good treatment for these new releases was because Dragonball GT is infamous to start out with. They probably thought that only really hardcore nuts'o nerd fanboys who want a complete collection would buy them. Everyone knows that such types have really high standards about stuff like picture quality and music and whatnot. So, they catered to those nerds by treating it really well.

It's sort of like what they did with Dragonball back when it hit Cartoon Network.

Dragonball Z, on the other hand, is the most popular part of the series amongst a wide variety of people who like it to have HARDCORE rock music and such. So, they don't have to treat it as well because "DeeBeeZee prints money" to begin with.

On the other hand, the idea of a curse seems like a lot simpler of an explanation. Dragonball Z gets screwed. Everytime we've asked about Dragonball in the past several years FUNimation teases us with thoughts of them actually trying to get it to us and then nothing ever happens. And then the series they treat right is the one almost nobody cares about.

Yeah. Could also be a curse.

I'd even go as far to say that the curse extends beyond Funimation because VIZ is pretty fucked up too. If not worse. I mean with Animation it's one thing but with Manga? Come on! It's a god damn comic book! Just translate the shit and give us the Daizenshuu...but yeah back on topic! The cover for this season is cool but I wish they would have went with Kid Buu or some form of Buu instead.

I am not talking about slapping characters on all willy nilly, but new images especially designed and drawn for the covers.

VIZ isn't as horrible as everyone makes 'em out to be. People are just mad because they can't read English and see Bulma's boobs at the same time.

Cool cover, but I'm vaguely disappointed that the king wasn't on there.
