Yeah, I first typed it all up in the order it was in the book, and when I went and made the English alphabetical order version I saved it as a new file. So I've got both version. Hujio and I decided to use the English order version for the site, as that would be the most useful for most readers.KillerCory wrote:Do you also have the guide in the order that it appears in the book?
Or do you guys know what order it would be in when put up on Kanzentai?

It's already quite easy to find what you're looking for, but more information is never a bad thing I suppose. I'd say it's not necessary, but it's a good idea all the same.Herms wrote:OK, I've got a question for you all. Currently, I've just got the technique names in either English for names that are translated, or in romanizations for the ones that are left as-is. When this eventually goes up on Kanzentai, would you want me to include the original Japanese for the name (ie the kanji/kana), with the romaji for that? So for instance the entry for the Kamehameha would start like this:
Kamehameha
かめはめ波/kamehameha
Category: ki manipulation
Etc.
Having the romaji after the kana/kanji might seem kind of pointless for stuff like the Kamehameha, but it could be helpful for the purely descriptive technique names. For instance:
Ability to Turn Anywhere into Water
どこでも水に変えてしまう能力/doko demo mizu ni kaete shimau nouryoku
Category: ability
Etc.
What do you think?

Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
Sorry to revive such old thread but I have a question:
"Second Grade
A power-up where every nerve is concentrated, sending ki throughout the body and inflating the muscles."
The word "nerve" in here is really meaning body's nerves or does it mean a less specific term?
And I noticed Full-Power Super Saiyan isn't listed. Any idea why? Thanks!

It's shinkei, which generally refers to nerves in the body. The Japanese word for neurology, for instance, is shinkei-gaku.Senzu_Bean wrote:The word "nerve" in here is really meaning body's nerves or does it mean a less specific term?
I'm not sure really sure. My guess would be because it's more of a refinement on the initial Super Saiyan transformation rather than its own separate transformation. I think the term "Full-Power Super Saiyan" is only found in Daizenshuu 2, and not anywhere in 7.And I noticed Full-Power Super Saiyan isn't listed. Any idea why?

Thanks! Just one more thing - Elder Kaioshin says his ability is pretty unique by drawing that person’s hidden power out beyond their limits but according to Daizenshuu 7 Babidi did this too to Vegeta, Dabura, etc. Is this really true?

Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
Yeah, actually that's taken right from the manga. When Babidi is turning Vegeta into "Majin Vegeta", he says that he'll draw his hidden power out to beyond his limits. It actually makes a certain sort of sense that Babidi would share this ability with the Elder Kaioshin. After all, the Elder Kaioshin says that the reason he has such strange abilities is because he merged with that witch, and Babidi himself is a wizard. Of course, Babidi's magic doesn't necessarily draw someone's power out as far beyond their limits as the Elder Kaioshin's does.Senzu_Bean wrote:Thanks! Oh, that's interesting. I'd knew Babidi's power brought it out the hidden power, but bringing it out 'beyond' that power was something I must have glossed over.

Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
Yep, a lot interesting. But I really can't make a different between Saichourou ability and Elder Kaioshin's. What does "drawing out of that person’s dormant power" means? Wasn't Saichourou able to release all of that person's dormant power and Kaioshin above it?
Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
Are "hidden" and "latent" used interchangeably then?
I saw "dormant" power as being power that you can already access with extreme difficulty (tons of ki manipulation like Goku's 5,000 to 8,000, Gohan's rage boosts, etc). What Saichoru did was make it so that they can access that power as easily as they would draw out their normal ki reserves. "Hidden" power seems to be ALL power, meaning what I described and much more. Since Gohan Boo notices no strength increase when Dende healed him, while Piccolo noticed a change in Gohan's demeanor, I figure some of those extra sources meant power from mental energy, power reserved only for zenkais, etc.Senzu_Bean wrote:Yep, a lot interesting. Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
It can't be since Krillin went from 1,500 to over 10,000. No way he would be able to access that much power all by himself at that time.Dayspring wrote:I saw "dormant" power as being power that you can already access with extreme difficulty.
And I believe "dormant", "hidden" and "latent" powers are one and the same. Just different names for the same thing.
Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
But... he never did. That's what I said was the point of Saichoru helping him access it.Senzu_Bean wrote:It can't be since Krillin went from 1,500 to over 10,000. Plus 1,500 wasn't his limit. He lowered it to a very low number, then increased it to an amount required to take out the opponent in front of him.
I guess a better example of what I mean would be how Piccolo had a BP in the 400s against Radditz, yet by doing nothing but standing there and gathering energy for a couple minutes (which isn't practical in combat), was able to tap into the 1300s. That 900-or-so extra would be dormant power.
In that case, I figure Saichoru tapped into what I defined as hidden power earlier. It's power that you have in you, but can't access at will anywhere near as easily as you would your other reserves. Some reserves you may not be able to tap into at all, simply because you don't know how, or haven't developed physically to a point where you should be able to yet. Saichoru made it so that you can.And I believe "dormant", "hidden" and "latent" powers are one and the same. Just different names for the same thing.
Another possibility is that it's your potential, meaning the pinnacle of what you could hope to achieve through a lifetime of training. Because that amount became your current base, your potential changes to a different level, which is why they got stronger afterward.

Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
True, however you said "dormant" is power one can already access with extreme difficulty, which I replied saying Krillin couldn't ever access power over 10,000 when he himself was just slightly over 1,700.Dayspring wrote:But... he never did.
Re: Daizenshuu 7-Special Attack Dictionary
I interpret "dormant power" as power that is existent, but inaccessible through normal means. To use it at any given time, you need something to force it out; like Gohan's freak-outs, a ki-based transformation, or a special technique like the Kaio-Ken. Or you can slowly add more and more of it to yourself by training, but training also increases the amount of that dormant power. So there's always room to improve, even if improving becomes more difficult over time.

When Gohan is receiving the Elder Kaioshin's power-up, Goku says that latent power is a person's hidden true power, which they possessed all along, and Kaioshin says he thinks that's right.Dayspring wrote:Are "hidden" and "latent" used interchangeably then?
