I'm actually thinking it might be the recap music.

That's what I'm hoping, but mainly because then it would almost be guranteed a spot in any subsequent CD's; otherwise I doubt we'd ever be able to get a clean rip of it.

Commercials and promos usually have good music, but it never gets released and is never used with 5.1 audio... so sad.

Apparently they're done with Naruto, too. They've been skipping airings of the show for the past few months to re-air movies they've shown a million times before.(And less than 20 episodes before we get to Shippuuden :S)

I mean, I love Superman: Doomsday and Justic League:The New Frontier, but after the 5th showing of each, I get a little tired of it.

April 5th, episode 1

April 12th, episode 2

It looks like the 4th episode is talking about his death in the past tense, like it happened in the previous ep and now this ep is the consequences of it

No it didn't. Episode 1 doesn't count as that was entirely filler about Gohan being lost in the woods. Raditz doesn't appear until Z episode 2, and dies in Z episode 5. Technically, the fighting starts at Z episode 3 and finishes at Z episode 5.

Raditz shows up in the first episode, kills our friend Farmer With Shotgun, and has his run in with Piccolo. The rest is the filler....I think.

There may be a bit more at the end of the episode, but I'm pretty certain there's not.

Yeah, Raditz does indeed appear in DBZ episode 1. Here's a break-down of what isn't filler: He lands on Earth, kills Mr. Farmer, finds Piccolo, Piccolo welcomes him with a ki blast to the face, he senses a stronger battle power, and finally flies off to find Kakarotto. The episode ends with Raditz flying off to Kame House muttering about how the Saiya-jin are the strongest warriors in the universe and whatnot. Everything else with Goku, Gohan, and the Saber Tiger is filler.

Edit: Instead of making a new post, here are the translated titles from Herms.

April 5th ~ Episode 1
"The Curtain Opens on the Battle! Son Goku Returns"
April 12th ~ Episode 2
"The Enemy is Goku's Older Brother!? The Secret of the Saiya-jin, Strongest of Warriors"
April 19th ~ Episode 3
"Goku and Piccolo's Strongest Tag-Team! The Fierce Battle Against Raditz"
April 26th ~ Episode 4
"Son Goku is Dead... Fierce Training in the Afterlife and Living World!"

Don't forget that the titles for episodes 3 and 4 have "tentative" titles, and are subject to change.

Sounds about right so far. Except for the first episode, there wasn't too much filler in the first several episodes. Except for the filler in the training, the first Arc was paced pretty decently.

After that, though, things should start changing more.
