Honestly, that would be really damn cool. By "standard issuing," I just assumed it would be a standard amaray case with two disc holders (like the Yu Yu Hakusho two-disc releases). If they make it like their releases for One Piece or 009-1, though, I would honestly prefer that over the steelbooks.

Since the steel books have the name of the supplier engraved in them, I went to their website. It seems that you can order the cases your self. SO screw Funi, I don't need them to be consistent; I'll make my own. I win.

Hopefully, though, they're still "remastered", just different packaging.

They should just use the same design as the steelbook, just not, well, a steelbook.

Is this where say, the first disc is on top, the second disc is on the bottom, and it resembles an 8? Because Desert Punk does this too and I hate it. :<

Yeah. Both the double features and orange bricks do this. It's a pain in the ass to take out of the double features and the orange bricks are quite easy to break, along with the fact that the discs are quite easy to fall out of place.

Hey, does anyone have Either DragonBox: The Movies or the DBox Movie Singles and/or the actual original Japanese movie posters scanned in High-resolution?
I'm really thinking of doing this whole "Make an American Dragon Box" Idea...

I hate Scanavo hubs (Scanavo is the company that makes Steelbooks) I usually have to sand them down just to make them easy to take discs out. So less work for them = better for me. Although the consistancy thing hurts, since I was buying these releases. But then again, I was planning on putting all my DVDs into binders soon.

Well poo...

I mean, like others have said, it isn't a huge deal, but I was really enjoying the look of these things on my shelf.

Man... If only they would make up for this buy giving us some sort of special animation that might have been released a while back... Or something.

I'm liking DemonRin's idea, though. Seems like a good way to kill some time this summer.

By the way, do we have a concrete release date on this? Or is this whole potential supplier issue going to push back any date that we may have gotten?

Apparently you left 10 minutes before I popped back with more info.

Funimation's May catalog is apparently wrong, it is a normal case.

Being blonde here... So normal case being plastic or steel?

Plastic case. I can understand where you're coming from though, since normal case could mean normal double feature case, which would be steel.

I'm just glad I've been buying the Blu-rays. Funi can't screw those up, though I'm kinda pissed I have to re-buy the first two Broly films just to have the third. I don't like any of them, but I'm a completionist.

Because of a mold error all copies of the last double features on Blu-Ray will be in a lime green case

Easily replaced with an extra blue case. Try finding a replacement for that steel book. :P

I really hope that they're not really going to do this. I don't give a fuck whether or not your releases are selling well, release them in a consistent manner or don't release them at all! When they released the second double feature announcing that the other 11 movies would be released in this format, I believe that FUNimation made a promise to its consumers. A promise just as good as the Ultimate Uncuts apparently...

If this does turn out to be true, I think that FUNimation should do a mail-away program to either:

(A) Provide standard 2-disc cases for the prior double features; or...

(B) Provide a steelbook alternative, even if it's in limited supply and at an additional cost.

Things like this are just like spitting in the face of your supporters...

From what I got of Rob's message. It seemed like he meant that the online sales for these releases have been lacking, and that retail sales have been swell. So why not do different batches? It's not like FUNimation hasn't done different releases for online-only before (Volume 6 of various Sojitz titles).

I feel stupid using walmart.com as a source... but..

Walmart.com shows the size of the dvd

Dead Zone/Worlds
Product in Inches (L x W x H): 5.5 x 0.5 x 7.44

Broly Triple Pack
Product in Inches (L x W x H): 5.41 x 0.59 x 7.52

Fusion Reborn/Wrath
Product in Inches (L x W x H): 5.5 x 0.5 x 7.44

So Fusion Reborn & Wrath Of The Dragon's case, according to walmart.com, is the same size as the first movie double pack and it looks like normal dvd cases are not the same size.

Again... According to walmart.com....

There ya go. Looking at a listed size prior to release by a few months is just plain stupid.

Well there's no need to be rude about it. I was more or less saying take it for whats its worth because it was walmart. And feeling stupid about it was the fact it was walmart.

Dumbass.

That was far ruder than his response.
