VIDEO GAME GODS! I BEG YOU! PLEEEEEESE GIVE US A GOOD RELEASE, OUTSIDE JAPAN! NOT DUB ONLY!

Do many RPGs have a Japanese language option? I know Blue Dragon does, but I don't know of any others.
There may be size limit issues with the DS card, depending on what size they use, that might prevent dual language tracks.
You'd be surprised at how much flash memory holds these days, especially with compression. I have a cyclods cart that reads an 8gb MicroSD card.
Right, but Nintendo only allows certain sizes. You also have to bear in mind that Atari would have to pay more for the larger cards, and I don't see them doing that.

It's got the logo on it, but the rips are pretty clean otherwise. I can also post separated versions of the character art used on the page too, if anyone is interested.

Thanks for that. You should post up the character art too.

Ask and you shall receive!

Piccolo
Tenshinhan
Yamcha
Krillin
Gohan
Vegeta
Goku

The transparency around the characters seems to be manually cut from inside the flash; the character art inside the flash seems to have portions of the rock backgrounds around them. Outside of that little niggle, though, they're fully intact and separated. :)

The new commercial looks awesome! X3 I missed that RPG style from those earlier gameboy games; nice to see it again. :3

I still think the Dragonball DS commercial was one of the best game commercials ever, so sentimental.

For no rhyme or reason, I made some avatars from the promotional art used for DragonBall Kai (video game).

Makes me think of Legacy of Goku if that was any good.

I get this eerie feeling that if we do see a release, it will be way further down the line.

With this whole refreshment which is Kai coming, and this game being based off of that, it might not settle in too well with an American audience.

I guess in the end the sells of Dragon Ball Evolution (ugh) is going to ultimately determine the fate of this game. If they feel like Dragon Ball still has a strong audience we might get Kai and and this game.

I'm not sure if developers would be willing to completely change the identity of this game or not...With Kai stamped on it (and if Kai doesn't make it here) you talking about some effort to remove traces of Kai, and if that's even legal for the American distributors to do.

Of course I'm not too knowledgeable on business aspects like that, just adding my 2 cents.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I just picked up a DSi today to replace my failing fat DS.

Between this and Kingdom Hearts, I'm totally psyched to have a working DS again.

The screenshots make it look like the battle system will by somewhat similiar to Final Fantasy, in that it's turn-based and performing special attacks depletes your MP.

Holy shit, I never bothered looking at this topic before because I thought all they made for DB games was the same fighting game 50 times over with a couple new people. Then I click this and see sprites and it's effing gorgeous.....

And oh my god, classic delightful RPG stuff. I want to fight chickens as Piccolo and Goku o.o The more I see the more I love this.

If this baby gets a Japanese language option it's so mine. As beautiful as it looks I'd never be able to stand FUNi's VAs for the amount of time a real rpg takes. Which this looks like it is o_o Real sprite based RPG, holy shit the thought fills me with happiness.

Wow, I'm behind on the DBZ news here, but this looks awesome!
When is it coming out?

For the record, that chicken screenshot tells about how you can run away from battles (successfully getting away depends on luck, and you may be attacked by the enemy if you fail to escape), so that's another similiarity to the classic Final Fantasy style of RPG.

Oh, and I noticed that Goku has a halo in that screenshot.

Just more signs that it has everything I love in a game < <

I'm amused, as well, that it's the chickens they're funning from. Farmer must have been stronger than we thought to control those wild monsters.
