Dragon Ball Kai, Awaiting the Saiyans

I never read the manga, so I don't know if this is filler or not. Was the Z fighters training for the Saiyans to come filler? I hope it's not, as it gave a sense of buildup.

Most of the training scenes in the anime were filler, but there were still a few in the manga.

Pretty much all of it is filler, I think. The only things I can recall happening in the manga were a bit of Gohan's early training and his Oozaru transformation. I also think we saw a tiny bit of training at Kami's lookout.

I haven't read the manga in a while, so I may be wrong.

We see mostly Gohan's training with Piccolo, while only one panel of the others training on Kami's palace (Yamcha sparring with Chaozu, while Kuririn spars against Popo and Yajirobe meditating, while Tenshinhan gathering his breath as Kami looks on).

Goku's training with Kaio in the anime is almost dead on, with the exception of there not being a Saiyan backstory explanation in the manga and Gregory only existing in the anime.

Once Goku's training was finished, there was no recap of how he progressed by Kaio. This was left for the readers to figure out just how stronger and faster Goku's become.

Which reminds me... I pray that they cut out the moon-projecting space pod in Kai. That was just the sux.

They've already cut out a couple pages of canon from five chapters of material. I don't see why they'd go easy on a filler transformation that sucked.

I'm interested in seeing how they handle the Tsuffle (or however the hell you spell it) filler. The episode as a whole is needed, because it's used in the manga, but the tsuful aspects are filler. However, Toriyama came up with the idea and design of the Tsufuls, so should that flashback remain uncut and with filler?
