Is Raditz really Goku's brother?

Another thing to add to this discussion is that when Freeza was trying to figure out who Gohan was the son of, he says he somewhat resembled Raditz (which I think is the last time Raditz is mentioned).

While I believe whole heartedly that Raditz is Goku's brother, and the one Bardock refers to when he says his son was born "too long ago to remember."
However, if I were to judge based on appearance alone, I'd assume Raditz was Vegeta's brother and Tarble was Goku's.
Raditz has the angry eyes and widows peak just like Vegeta.
Tarble is almost the spitting image of Mystic Gohan.

Going through the posts, I was hoping I could be the first to bring this up.Herms wrote:Another thing to add to this discussion is that when Freeza was trying to figure out who Gohan was the son of, he says he somewhat resembled Raditz (which I think is the last time Raditz is mentioned).
It does show that even though they may not have been drawn in similar ways, in-universe, they do look alike.

Yeah, regarding the fact that we hadn't seen Vegeta yet that's true.Kingdom Heartless wrote:Going through the posts, I was hoping I could be the first to bring this up.Herms wrote:Another thing to add to this discussion is that when Freeza was trying to figure out who Gohan was the son of, he says he somewhat resembled Raditz (which I think is the last time Raditz is mentioned).![]()

Goku and Radditz shared the same physical appearances: Spiky, wild hair, black hair and a tail. Noone really had their hair like that before, making Radditz to look an awful lot like Goku.
Now, after seeing Vegeta and other Saiyans like Brolly and such, we may think thay they look less alike indeed.
But personally I think they look alike. Even Freeza confused Gohan with being Raddiz's son, so in-universe they were very alike.
No more time for Daizex. Goodbye folks!

Yo I've heard some pretty damn weird questions on this forum so many times. Example not sure if it's realy, HOW MANY SPIKES DOES GOKU HAVE WHEN HE IS SUPSER SAIYAIN, or IS IT TRUE CELL HAS 8 SPOTS ON EACH SHOULDER? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IN NAMEKIAN. I mean come on, I asked a very simple question, nobody really knows, they just assume he is. I really woudl beleive he is, the only way to find out is to ask Toriyama himself, but if we did we would probably get an answer like "HAHA! I Forgot all about him until I saw DragonBallKai again!"MCDaveG wrote:I think this is he weirdest question here)))))

But again, the series itself repeatedly says that he's Goku's brother, in no uncertain terms, and nothing at all contradicts this, so yeah it is kind of an odd thing to ask about.ultimateemail5000 wrote:Yo I've heard some pretty damn weird questions on this forum so many times. Not to contradict what anyone has said, but King Vegeta looks amazingly like Vegeta. Also I think Table looks more like kid Vegeta than Mystic Gohan, but that's a whole 'nother point.
My point is that Goku is the splitting image of his father and Vegeta is the splitting image of his father as well.
I can't remember any other Saiyan with a father (was Paragas Brolli's father?), but it seems that at least one offspring strongly resembles his father. Maybe that's something genetic, but of course the actual explenation is that Toriyama didn't really think it through, but that's okay :p

He was. Poor guy, getting killed by his own son (of course, he tried to kill him first, but still).worldmonsters wrote:I can't remember any other Saiyan with a father (was Paragas Brolli's father?)

Because I'm replying someone. Like I'm replying you now.Bussani wrote:Why do you always double post when there's an edit button?Piccolo Daimao wrote:No, it's not a valid point. It's explicitly stated that Raditz is Son Goku's brother, why would you think otherwise? See my post that I wrote.dragondyle wrote:He has a very valid point and been pondering the same thing. What bugs me the most is that Raditz wasn't ever mention in the Bardock special nor was he ever mentioned after Goku asks Yemma in Hell about him and that was it. I'm starting to question him being Goku's brother completely.

Well, yeah, but you can do that in 1 post... It's usually considered rude to double post.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Because I'm replying someone.
