I found this image online depicting a completely different argument. Then, I asked Bussani to replace the original argument with Kai and DBZ. I thought it was really funny and kind of true.

What do you think? Funny?

This image gets edited to just about everything. The joke is that it only takes a word to set any fandom off. Very true, I think.

I showed my friend who went to see Dragon Ball Evolution with me, and he replied by making this.

And slightly related, this is one he's probably done before.

I can’t say I’ve seen any sort of vicious argument like this take place here over Kai (compare the discussion of Kai here to, say, the discussion of Evolution). Frankly I think some of the people who like Kai are overly sensitive to any criticism of the new show.

I don't think that anybody says that evolution is better than the actual series, though. Not even JAPPO would say that...

Well, I was just talking about level of civility. We've had countless threads on Evolution locked (due to the behavior of people on both sides, I should say), but so far no thread on Kai has come even remotely close to being locked. So I don't think this cartoon is very accurate, even as a cartoonish exaggeration.

Yeah, it's a joke about trolls really, and how a simple comment from one can set fans off. Notice the troll doesn't get involved, he just sits back and grins.

It's an exaggeration, certainly, but in that context I have seen moments on this forum like this too. Where a random, offhanded comment will cause people to go nuts.

Like, remember when Saiyan-Professor said he liked Chatwin Goku more than manga Goku? Oh the rage.

It's an extreme case of exaggeration meant to be laughed at. Don't think too deeply into it.
