Vegeta beating Yajirobe was pretty bad too. I never knew how bad he hurt him until I saw Funimation's re-dub of season 1.

The only difference with this is I was actually happy this happened. I can't stand Yajirobe.Kid Trunks wrote:Vegeta beating Yajirobe was pretty bad too. I never knew had bed he hurt him until I saw Funimation's re-dub of season 1.
GT is underrated and the International Channel will always be my favorite channel for foreign programming. I still miss it.

The fact that it was a redneck robot that did the honors made it even worse.Travis Touchdown wrote:I have to say Goku getting falcon punched in his cash & prizes is the most brutal thing ever on Dragon Ball.

As I said in another topic similar to this one:
I personally think this is the most disgusting scene in the series, as well as the most brutal:

Now that you mention it, I'm surprised it took so long for this to get mentioned.Shiyonasan wrote:As I said in another topic similar to this one:

Not to get off topic, but I have to disagree with you about how much Vegeta changed, insofar as the reasons he didn't blow up the Earth.rereboy wrote:I disagree. I think he changed.Saiyavenger2941 wrote:I think the saddest thing of all about that scene, was that Vegeta didn't change one bit. I mean, I know Toriyama's original plans had changed and all, but still, it's like "You weren't emotionally effected one bit by the ass kicking he gave you? Were those tears not real?". Frustrating as hell, I say, and one of the defining reasons I can't stand Vegeta.
After those events in namek he stayed at earth living with earthlings he had fought before and he didn`t try to kill anybody.
Vegeta from the sayan arc would just kill them all I think (especially since freeza and goku were dead or so they thought).
He was no longer just a coldblooded conqueror. He was a warrior full of pride (with not many morals still) whose aim in life was to defeat Goku (even allowing his friends to use the dragon balls to bring him to life before discovering he was alive).
As for the most brutal beating, I think it was Freeza VS Vegeta.
The only thing that changed was that his goal of immortality went out the window in favor of reclaiming his status as the universe's strongest Saiyan (and with it, his pride) by beating Goku.
As for not going on a Saiyan Saga style killing spree, why would he? He can't blow up the Earth, he has nowhere to go. There aren't any spaceships so he can't leave (I don't count anime filler. I go by the manga. Sorry, but his training was all done on Earth, folks). Even if he could, I don't think he's going back into planetary real estate. That was mostly through Frieza's empire which was surely no more at the time. He may be a loner, but I don't think even HE would go for the whole complete isolation thing. And even if he was comfortable shunning all human contact, what about food (well, I guess he could leave the animals alive)? What about medical considerations (like leaving doctors alive so he has access to treatment and medicine)? I doubt Toriyama thought that all through, but Vegeta would seem like the character to take that sort of thing into consideration, even in passing.
I'm not saying he COULDN'T live alone on a dead planet, but as evil as he is, he simply has no reason to do so. In the Saiyan Saga, he and Nappa were planning to sell the Earth as they did with countless others. With no buyers, no real estate market (I assume), and no way off the planet, it would be more of an effort to kill everybody than it would be to just leave everyone be. Plus, after living as a veritable VIP in Frieza's empire ("Lord" Vegeta), I'm sure the idea of living with the richest family on Earth was more appealing than living in a dead wasteland. It's not like he HAD to actually talk to any of his housemates, anyway.

That's a good point, It makes sense Vegeta's transformation did take place somewhere other than Earth, simply because no-one knew he had become a Super Saiya-jin.Rocketman wrote:Does the manga say he never left Earth? I would definitely go with Goku getting a whole in his shoulder stomped on by Piccolo.

The most brutal moment of the series? Definitely the Mr. Satan bit in the Cell Games. It was absolute torture to have to endure watching that idiot and the camera men while I was only interested in Goku fighting Cell. I was this close to gnawing off my arm every time the story switched over to Satan and crew.
Absolutely brutal.
