I remember stopping over at my friends house with a couple of other friends there, and I was minding my own business reading a book while my friends played Budokai 3, and they got in to a beam battle, so they're both there frantically spinning the analog sticks, and it seems to be going on for quite a long time when one of my friends just starts screaming like he was powering up, making my other friend laugh uncontrollably and lose the beam battle and the match

Pretty good tactic :)

Just kept pounding away. Transforming into Saiyagirl also helps a little bit, since she can use Chasing Attacks in that form.

Also, the Sonic Sway helps a ton, and the free hit opens him up for some major combos.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

The first time I played Legends (which was actually the first DB game I owned). To this day no DB game has wowed me as much as that game. It's music and cutscenes blew me away with how accurately it duplicated the experience of watching the show. Also the point of the battles was to make it like the show, and the closer you were the better your score was.

No game has topped legends for me. A close second might be Tenkaichi 2, or Dragon Ball advance adventure. I also like Legacy of Goku 2.

I also have fond memories of playing the Butoden games on a SNES emulator back in 97-98 and I felt so cool because I was playing something Japanese with my favorite characters, also I had no idea who some of the Characters were. I had only seen some stuff past the namek saga at that point so Cell and the androids i was kind of clueless. I remember thinking No. 16 was Recoome.

My favorite moments would probably be Budokai 2 and 3. The fighting and the characters just seemed to be perfect in those games. I remember watching the opening cinematic for each one and it would just get me so excited to play the game !! :D :D

I remember i also had Final Bout for the PS1. I thought it looked cool, then i finally got it off eBay and i was let down. Oh well, i shouldn't of expected much from the first "3-D" DB fighter.

I remember when my brother and I first played Budokai 3.

I was Goku, he was Vegeta (in his scouter get-up). We were battling in the rocky canyon area, and we were going fucking all out. I mean max life bars, more power up Potaras than transformations, and just an odd explosion of skill.

We were neck and neck, each of us almost dead, and then I fired up a Kamehameha and he fired up a Gallick Gun, and they smashed into each other with the force of angry Gods.

They exploded due to being too close.

The match was a draw.

And that is the story of my only draw in any fighting game ever.
