Rebirth Of Fusion... Starring Hitler!
There is animation of his mouth moving in the movie wich means FUNimation is going to have to make him say somthing. I know they would not make him say "Hail "Hitler" What could they possibly make him say besides that? I think a good way to avoid anything bad would be to make him sound like he is shouting German gibberish, not that Iam offended by "Hail Hitler" but I know some people are.
Also when Pikkon has to curse at the barrier to break it, what do you think there going to have him say?

Half the time he's just yelling, "ATTACK! ATTACK!" anyway. No biggie.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:There is animation of his mouth moving in the movie wich means FUNimation is going to have to make him say somthing. Yeah, it's from Gogeta's movie. But Hitler and the Nazi army are shown as ressurected, but they're played with (not necessarily killed) by Goten and Trunks (and later Gotenks). It's hilarious to watch. "Goten, let's go Super Saiyan and scare the crap out of this guy some more!"*PINHEAD* wrote:Wow, Hitler's in a Dragon Ball movie...I'm taking this is that movie with Gogeta, right? Is Hitler seen in hell or something?

Sounds like a decent enough way to handle Hitler's troupe. It would make my day, if the American dub had Hitler (or one of his cronies,) saying "Ein Reich, Ein Volk, Ein Führer." (No special reasoning behind the saying, I just think saying "A Realm, a People, a Leader" in a speech, is rather cool -- then again, the saying is open to interpretation, as "Ein" can also mean "One" in German... Or atleast, thats what I've been taught to believe.)
(Edit: I think the saying also has some connection with Hitler himself, but I can't be bothered to find out whether it has or not, and that knowledge would serve little importance to me.)

I am in the same boat as you Kenji, I have limited memory of the language as well, from being taught in school -- now however, I've been meaning to take it up again, but the internet isn't the best place for reliable/correct references.
- LaRésistance;
Was the movie dubbed, or was it the original Japanese cut?
Anyway, speaking of 1996, I remember watching DragonBall Z at about 7:30am, back then. (Seeing DragonBall Z, especially the Freeza saga back then, was a shocker, since where I lived the local tv station rarely had any channels that showed cartoons, let alone decent ones.)

"Ein" can mean "a" (e.g. "a ship") or "one" (e.g. "one ship"). You have to watch out for the context.
In the context of Hitler's stupid babbling it means (afaik) "one (and only) Reich/empire, one (and only) people, one (and only) leader."
Movie 12 has also been cut in Germany. The publisher made ONE movie with material from movies 12 and 13. They based their version on the French one, so it's cut. ^^

They spliced Movies 12 and 13 together? Hmm, even if it is in German I need to see that. Would be interesting...

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Then that's what Funimation will probably do as well. They seem to like copying editing tricks from the French! The Hercul*/Mr.Satan name was one example and I think there were a few more. However, I cannot remember them!LaRésistance wrote:It was dubbed, if i remember correctly they don't mention the nazi army, they talk about the "army of evil" or something like that.lost in thought wrote: - LaRésistance;

Just noticed that this board automatically changes the "H" word to Mr.Satan. Very funny!
Exactly, it's a "double feature"(Fusion und Drachenfaust/Fusion and Dragonfist). I didn't see it myself ('cause I hate DBZ in german and this one is cut), but a friend of mine told me that they put two movies behind each other. They cut out the Hitler scenes and changed the bgm. Not the entire bgm but you can hear Tapion's theme in movie 12, for example.Xyex wrote:They spliced Movies 12 and 13 together? Hmm, even if it is in German I need to see that. Would be interesting...
