RoKP / TI-DB (Wii) Official Info & Discussion

Post by VegettoEX » Tue May 19, 2009 11:34 am

Like godofchaos and I announced to you all back in February, a new game based on the original DragonBall is coming to the Wii.

Right now we just have this one kinda-crappy photo/scan from French site wiiz.fr.

I'm hoping that our Japanese friends (and other friends in Japan) can grab us some better-looking stuff so we can put some more detailed information out there.

And not that this brings anything to the table but, here is a loosely translated version of what is said on that French site:

After Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure on GBA and recently Dragon Ball: Origins on Nintendo DS, we learn from the pages of a Japanese magazine the development of DragonBall Wii. After a quick look at this bad quality image, the title seems to be in 2D/3D where Son Goku will have to deal with the Red Ribbon Army. More info soon.

They also mention that he (Son Goku) will have to deal with Satan? But I don't know how or what that translates into so... :?

It's real after all!!

Finally, a "Dragon Ball without the Z" game for a non-handheld console.

And it's NOT a fighting game. YAY

Let's hope that we get it before 2010 with the same music and title from Atari.

And looks like it's not just the Red Ribbon Army saga, 'cause I can see Piccolo Daimaoh at the bottom. Which makes it better.

Hopefully Atari will release this game. Origins didn't sell very well at all.

If I remember correctly the French dub calls Piccolo some form of Satan and when Mr. Satan came along, they thought it'd be too confusing or arduous to change the names, so they called Mr. Satan something akin to the H-word, which is where it originated from.

I kind of wish this one could've been on the 360 too. :( One-system-only exclusive games make me sad.

The game itself looks really cool.
On hiatus.

Does it say anywhere which magazine this scan is from?

Well, we know that it's not from V-Jump. Maybe it's from Famitsu, or a regular Weekly Jump issue.
WSJ includes some pages about video games from their mangas like One Piece or Naruto in case you didn't know.

To be totally correct, they called him "Satan petite coeur" (in the French anime)... Wich means "Satan with a small (kind) heart.

If this comes out in the US, but not the new DS game, I am going to be pissed off.

This is refreshing, Dragonball doesn't get enough exposure in the video game world. They've had what, like two... maybe three games based solely on the original series of the show?

Also, apparently I live here now :?

The Famicom received at least 5. And Dragon Power is technically a Dragon Ball game. The Sparking series showed a little Dragon Ball love too.

Seriously looking forward to this game. Advanced Adventure was probably one of my favorite Dragon Ball-related games of all time, so this if this is in the same reign, I'm definitely going to enjoy it. :D
