Silly Raditz. Guess I should be more surprised if he didn't say anything.
Also, very much digging the bonus sketch pages. Looks like Gohan was a major disappointment in one way or another in both Dabra and Cell's universes.

Raditz's comment was the highlight of the page for me. I love dramatic irony.

So will this be a draw or what?

He says that, as which appears to be normal routine, he couldn't come up with an idea for a cover page. Gogeta Jr came up with 3 ideas: the third one the writer of this update (I'm assuming Salagir) absolutely adored. The first one is Universe 17 (Cell's), in which Cell defeated Gohan in the Kamehameha duel. The second is Dabura from a universe in which Babidi got everything he ever dreamed of (the pic implying that Dabura killed Kaioshin and Gohan before Boo awakened). The third went over big for both of them, with Gogeta Jr mentioning some minor changes to the artwork process (note the swap from Cho-Genkidama to Death Ball) and then they show many different steps got used to find the perfect digital art, inked final version. Some inked, some not. Some coloured, some not. Some with effects, some not, and the final.Eison wrote:Great page, it looks fantastic.
Can someone translate this page from the bonus section, the first three page are what happened in Cell and Dabura's universe (or it are chapter covers): http://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en ... apes4.html
As for the new page's translation:
Raditz: "To be had by such a basic technique...'
Goku: "You'd have to want be hit by it." Meaning Goku is finishing Raditz's sentence. Basically Raditz and Goku are both saying the attack was obviously coming and easily dodgeable when it finally did.
Dabura: "I'm going to finish with you!" makes for an awkward translation. A better method would have been to say "I'm finished/done with you!" works better, but changes the tense of the verb. In light of this, the decided upon "I'm going to finish this!" works just as well.
The spitting sound effects: ...WTF?
"Ptui!" translates fine; they even used it as the spit's collision sound!
I guess they could have used a more drawn out sound like "Ptouiee", but "SPIT", really? "Plitch" makes the same sound as well, so I don't know why they chose "Ptuit" here.
The rest is fine.
The acid spit is fast: it's already progressed to his stomache. I wonder if he's going to decapitate himself to survive, or if Dabura may actually win.

I'm expecting Dabura to win with the spit but then get killed in a later match thus resulting in Cell's revival by the time Vegetto and Brolly fight.

Why does Raditz look like Vegeta in that panel? In addition, I thought when a character’s combat power exceeded others; the ones with the lower power level could not follow their actions or movements. It is clear that those Saiyans are not on Cell and Dabra’s level, so how can they follow the fight?
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

Of course they can. Everyone could follow Cell and Goku, everyone could see Nappa... Vegeta could follow Goku vs. Ginyu Force or even Goku SSJ3 vs. Kid Buu...
The thing is that they just can't follow if the people they are watching are MUCH faster than them. But they surely don't have to be on the same level at all

I think that those comments were intended to be just ironic/funny.Saiyan-Professor wrote:Why does Raditz look like Vegeta in that panel? That is one thing I hated about the post Namek material for back then when you were totally outclassed in battle power you could not follow your opponents movements. Piccolo, Kuririn and Son Gohan made a big deal about Vegeta being able to see Freeza fire his finger beam thingie when they could not. In addition, Piccolo went on and on how Freeza and Kakarrot were in a whole other level and so on. Yet, when that Saga passed everyone could follow most of every individuals moves when the two fighting had a combat strength miles above everyone else’s. People complain about GT diminishing everyone’s power but Z started it post Namek. To me things such as this lessen the significance of someone reaching a new plateau of power.kaioken12 wrote:>>> It is clear that those Saiyans are not on Cell and Dabra’s level, so how can they follow the fight?

So you mean that in the end of Cell and Buu saga, noone should have a clue about what happened in the fights?Saiyan-Professor wrote:That is one thing I hated about the post Namek material for back then when you were totally outclassed in battle power you could not follow your opponents movements. That wouldn't make for a good story.
There was also no diminishing of battle power. Kuririn was still taken out by a tap from Perfect Cell, and Tenshinhan of a kick from Gotenks Buu.
It's like saying that if Korin could sense FPSSJ Goku's powerlevel, he should be as strong as him.
No more time for Daizex. Goodbye folks!

I'm expecting Cell to get all 'stoned' (lawlz), then he'll fall to the ground and break in pieces. But, Dabura's wound kills him, allowing Cell to regenerate and claim victory.
I'd love for Dabura to win, but Cell is a 'main villain' and thus will advance.

It just takes all the drama and larger than life aspect out of the whole thing. What is the point of getting stronger and according to Vegeta once upon a time dramatic increase of speed if someone as weak as Kuririn can follow your movements? Why make a big deal about it in the past then all of a sudden, it is no big deal.Wojak wrote:So you mean that in the end of Cell and Buu saga, noone should have a clue about what happened in the fights?Saiyan-Professor wrote:That is one thing I hated about the post Namek material for back then when you were totally outclassed in battle power you could not follow your opponents movements. But that's the point of Raditz and Goku's comments: if the attack was beyond obvious to them, it should have been even more obvious to Dabura.Saiyan-Professor wrote:Why does Raditz look like Vegeta in that panel? This makes me wonder if Dabura has healing magics and played possum so as to get close enough to use the stone spit.
