New Figures Update (And Some Kai Stuff)

Post by SSj_Rambo » Fri Jun 05, 2009 10:47 pm

Well, normally I wouldn't consider a few new toys worth an entire thread, but since this is the last figure in the Shueisha Dragonball Selection series, the first figures to be branded under the Dragonball Kai title and some other cool stuff, I decided to throw this out there.

First off, there is this set of five pencils, tin pencil case, two erasers, stationary and what looks like a coaster with some original artwork (the round thing), all themed around Dragonball Kai. It's for sale over at Mekke Shop for ¥1,764.

Image

Now, these have to be some of the coolest Dragonball products I've seen in a long time (if they are what I think they are). They seem to be actual speakers in the shape of Freeza's hover chair!! Standing 10cm tall, these would look absolutely sick on anyone's desktop. Even though you wouldn't be able to tell simply from looking at them, these are also branded under Dragonball Kai. You can pick them up over at Mekke Shop for just ¥798 each.

There's also new Dragonball X One Piece plush figures, featuring a One Piece character (I have a feeling I should know this guy's name...) in various Dragonball outfits. Each one is going for ¥798.

Image Image Image Image Image

Next there is a set of four wrist bands, two with the Kame symbol and two with the Capsule Corp. logo, and three patches that you can sow onto your best suit, or your letterman's jacket. All seven of these products are going for ¥1,050

Now we have another awesome Dragonball product... headphones! Now, I noted this over on my twitter page when they were first released (so keep on eye over there if you like cool/random/pointless stuff), but as far as I know, they haven't been brought up here yet. There's a pair with the Kame symbol, and a pair with the Four-Star-Dragonball. They're going for ¥1,764 each.

Image Image

Now, I can't really figure out what exactly this is, but I guess it is a clear file and underlay set... whatever that means. There was a "clear file" that came with the Jump Super Anime Tour DVD (scan by Hujio of Kanzentai), and so it seems to basically be the same thing, but it seems like a really trivial product to put out, and a little over priced too. Well, it's over at Mekke Shop and it's going for ¥735.

Image

Now to the good stuff...

This is definitely (in my opinion) the coolest thing here. This is the seventh and final figure in the Shueisha Dragonball Selection series, and it looks amazing!! Being the fourth figure of Goku in this seven set series, it almost seems redundant, but it looks so damn good, that you really can't hate it. Like all of the other figures, it stands 18 centimeters tall, is made out of PVC plastic and goes for a whopping ¥7,000 over at Mekke Shop.

Now just for the heck of it, I decided to make a super image of all 7 figures:

Let's hope Shueisha has another beautiful line of figures in the works!!

SSj_Rambo, I may have to post an update about all this... Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on all the figures. I think I just found my belated birthday present!

Oh. My. Word. Freeza Speakers?! Sooo want. Plus or minus a couple bucks, you basically just have to move the decimal over two places when converting from yen to dollars, right? +/- $7.98 seems like a pretty cheap price for iPod speakers. Doubt the sound quality would be up to stuff. Then again... Freeza speakers. The two things coming out of the side seem like they were meant to be speakers. Great, now I've got a mental image of a pimped out Freeza hover chair.

It seems like they're aiming more for stuff around the Namek saga looking at the Kai figures. Hope that doesn't mean we won't be seeing any Kai products with Raditz or Nappa.

EDIT: Checking through the site, there's actually quite the amount of awesome DB stuff. Do you know if they ship to the US? Though looking through the pages, it looks like any and all Capsule shirts and hoodies have been sold out, so nevermind :(...

Those earbuds look fantastic.

And that mini-part of the last Goku figure where Mark is carrying Vegeta over his shoulder just makes me laugh. XD

I'd like to second the: "Do they ship to the US?" question.

From what I remember, you have to sign up to be a member of the Mekke! Shop to be able to order items. Unfortunately, you have to list your mailing address, and they only accept mailing addresses within Japan. I tried to join a year or two ago, and that's what I remember being the problem. Maybe I should try again sometime and see if they've changed things.

Maybe we can start a Kanzentai business out of all this. I'll have Herms sign up for a membership and order things for people. Of course we would have to charge an absurd amount... I'm thinking 25% of the original cost, plus shipping. Of course, certain people (i.e. myself) would get the Kanzentai discount.

Thanks! I really should get around to reading One Piece...

And I think a Kanzentai business would be awesome!! I'd totally buy through you guys... a lot.

And after finally taking a look at that "Super Image" I made of the Shueisha Dragonball Collection set, it's strange how they went from early Dragonball, to ~125 episodes later to the late Saiya-jin Arc, to 5 seconds later in the same episode, to the mid Jinzoningen Arc, backwards to the late Freeza Arc, to the end of the Freeza Arc, then all of the way to the end of the series. And yet it's still beautiful!

Hujio,

If you guys did offer that service I believe that the 25% fee is warranted. I mean, getting stuff ordered from Japan can be quite the "adventure" to say the least. I could see myself using a similar service for certain items.

Well the boxes look like the manga volumes, so I guess they're just statues for the manga.

I'd love to get them, daaaamn, I'd get all 42 Japanese manga volumes then have those statues a shelf above the manga and have them above their part of the series. :D

Also, Vegeta's PINK SHIRT is white on the Trunks one. :o

Could you set up a drop-shipper account? That way things would be easier in regards to inventory, as well as faster and cheaper in regards to shipping.

To be honest, I'm surprised FUNimation hasn't approached Daizex as a drop-shipper for their numerous DB products.

Well I think someone should try to contact Shueisha about that issue. I would love to see them make those products available to the U.S. They already have an english site for WSJ so why not make the online store available to the US too. From that site ( www.shonenjump.com/e/ ) you can access mekke or the jump shop but it gives you this little message that says "JAPANESE ONLY" its kinda disapointing because those shops have some really cool merchandise.
EDIT: The Mekke shop has a Dragon Ball Rubix cube O.o

I'd love to get my hands on a few of those. I would be very interested in buying from Kanzentai.
