Letter question about Viz manga

In the Viz translations of Volumes 1-10 and 17-27 (or DBZ Volumes 1-10) the letter "O" in some words (mainly "Roshi" and "Kaio") has a symbol above it that looks like a horizontal line. (ex. Ō) But in all the other volumes, the symbol is changed to a triangular shape (ex. Ô) Does anyone know why this change was made, or whether one is more correct?

They are both different ways of expressing a lengthened vowel. Neither is more 'correct' than the other.

When did VIZ drop that one female translator? Because it probably is just based on the preference/memory of different translators.

Well, technically, the macron is more correct. The circumflex is just a replacement for the macron.

The macron is the little straight line thingy, while the circumflex is the ^-ish dodad.

Which is absolutely HORRIBLE. How can any publishing house, let alone a translation publishing house, not have a set of House Rules?
