DBEvolution Reboot Rumor

You typically don't start adapting stories plunking down somewhere in the middle. Dragon Ball as a whole has a beginning, and it's likewise best for a movie series to adapt that beginning in some fashion.

I do not believe that the sequel Vegeta would as terrible as some believe, I actually enjoyed DB:E. I think the purists are just upset because they did not get their live action version full of silliness, not based on reality in any fashion.Tenshinhan-san wrote:So - just hypothetically - would you rather have a possibly so-so Vegeta NOW (in the first upcoming movie), than a potentially Fantastic one in a couple of years (in a sequel)?
By the way, have anyone seen this?
Who said that the story has to begin with Dragonball? This is a movie adaption they could begin it at GT and still produce a film of good quality (I am not saying DB:E was not as I stated before I actually liked it). They could also use a flashback or the scrolling script thingie we see in the Star Wars films.SSj Kaboom wrote:You typically don't start adapting stories plunking down somewhere in the middle. The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

Re: DBEvolution Reboot Rumor
Well, of course it will be a trilogy...not only that, but also confirmed a forthcoming trilogy.
Man, someone put this "we're planning a trilogy" schtick out if its misery already...
I can already see the catchline for the second movie: "THE END BEGINS".

Well, Dragon Ball is a kids series... An adult oriented movie would be abandoning the spirit of Dragon Ball.Olivier Hague wrote: "Originality? Effort? We hardly bother for adults anyway, so kids? Ha!"
If this does happen, I hope the movies are at least 2 hours long.

Re: DBEvolution Reboot Rumor
I think what Olivier Hague meant was maybe a PG-13 movie, not an "adult" movie, which you correctly stated will abandon the spirit of DB. PG-13 would probably be the best option if they decided to go with Z and be faithful with the amount of fighting, blood and what-not, and also keep the silly humor intact, IMO. Hell, if the Spider Man movies can get a PG-13, why not DB?Innagadadavida wrote:Well, Dragon Ball is a kids series... Er... I know that. I was just lamenting the fact that, at this point, Hollywood might as well be ran by the AI of Pac-Man's ghosts. And it becomes even more sadly apparent when talking about movies aimed at kids.Innagadadavida wrote:Well, Dragon Ball is a kids series...
My friends and I talked about how DB:E [catchy name...] was an entertaining movie but could benefit from a reboot a few years down the line. I hope that this rumor is true and that it does happen. I think that Dragonball has the potential to be as big of a release as Transformers or G.I. Joe, but with Fox at the helm... Ugh...

If theres a reboot. James Marsters wouldn't be Piccolo anymore! How heartbreaking would that be for him haha. If theres a reboot we won't see vegeta till were OLD! Heck what if we die in an accident? Well never ever see Vegeta on screen! They can just make the sequel 10 times better and i know they can. There can still be a possibility the reboot might be worst even though evolution was bad itself.

Hey! While we're at it, how about in the reboot we make Goku have a crush on Chi-Chi and have him skip a feast to go to a party! The only thing that would make it better would be having Linkin Park do the soundtrack!Saiyan-Professor wrote:I do not believe that the sequel Vegeta would as terrible as some believe, I actually enjoyed DB:E. EDIT: Sorry, that was kind of a dick move. But it's just how I see it when people mock the fact that Dragonball has lots of colors and a few animals. I mean, really. Go watch Batman or something if you want gritty crime drama.

A lot of people might not like it but from a marketing stand point this would be for the best. They might as well jump right into what the average fan wants to see anyway.Raki wrote:They probably will jump right to Saiyans and ignore all of Dragonball.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Actually, I would take that over Linkin Park.Big Boss wrote:Fixed.Kendamu wrote:Hey! Really, Linkin Park mixed with Dragonball irks me about a million times more than the dub music. Yes, even more than that stupid repetitive Perfect Cell theme that they played for what seemed like the entire fucking Cell Game.
Heh heh...actually, so would I thinking about it.Kendamu wrote:Actually, I would take that over Linkin Park.Big Boss wrote:Fixed.Kendamu wrote:Hey! I believe you're exaggerating, it was only played 34 times.Kendamu wrote:Really, Linkin Park mixed with Dragonball irks me about a million times more than the dub music. I actually like Linkin Park, they need something fresh and relevant instead of the Hanna Barbera stuff everyone seems found of on here.Kendamu wrote:Actually, I would take that over Linkin Park.Big Boss wrote:Fixed.Kendamu wrote:Hey! There's very few things that make for worse BGM for DragonBall than Bruce Faulconer's stuff, but Linkin Park is definitely one of them.
