Green Piccolo was green. That was fine. But, in general, the movie was too muted to be Dragonball.Sanjiscool wrote:Piccolo's minty green didn't tickle your fancy?Kendamu wrote:If only the movie really was that colorful...Bura wrote:I figured this was pretty funny to share... on one of the Japanese Blu-ray covers Justin Chatwin is almost going SSJ!!

I honestly would have been fine with the look of the movie if it was good. I mean, it's not like we didn't have traveling in deserts in Dragon Ball. The city was futuristic and cool, and I actually really liked Roshi's house(I know I'm in the minority, but I thought that looked really cool and mystical).
It was the painful-to-listen-to script and lack of focus that killed the movie for me. I actually had no issue with the actors, little issue with the look of the film, but it was just executed so poorly on the level of storytelling and character that the whole thing kind of fell apart.

Yes, that was this movie's biggest fault. I laughed when Chichi talked to Goku about his grandfather's death and he seemed pretty over it.Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:It was the painful-to-listen-to script and lack of focus that killed the movie for me. That's just so hilariously bad. I mean you can tell just by looking at it that it's a bad photoshop. That'll probably make people laugh rather than buy it.Bura wrote:I figured this was pretty funny to share... on one of the Japanese Blu-ray covers Justin Chatwin is almost going SSJ!!

Is this supposed to be SSJ or something? Coupled with "Z Edition", it's pretty obvious this is meant to mislead buyers.
But really, if you know enough about this movie to buy it...then you probably already know whats in store.Big Boss wrote: Is this supposed to be SSJ or something? Coupled with "Z Edition", it's pretty obvious this is meant to mislead buyers.

Honestly, it wasn't exactly marketed well(at least here, I suppose it was in Japan). I can see someone coming across the DVD without knowing about the film and picking it up based on box art. Especially in Japan, where kids are just getting into Dragon Ball through Kai.Big Momma wrote:But really, if you know enough about this movie to buy it...then you probably already know whats in store.Big Boss wrote: Is this supposed to be SSJ or something? I think FOX didn't see any reason to market it well in the US. By the time it got here it had so much bad press that marketing it anymore than what little they had would've been a waste of money.Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:Honestly, it wasn't exactly marketed well(at least here, I suppose it was in Japan).Big Momma wrote:But really, if you know enough about this movie to buy it...then you probably already know whats in store.Big Boss wrote: Is this supposed to be SSJ or something? Maybe. But the Internet seems a lot bigger than it really is. FOX could have reached out to those who don't regularly use the internet (at least for entertainment news). I had a conversation with a guy the other day who was a fan and didn't even know there was an American-made live-action movie. He wasn't the first person who learned about the film though me either.Kendamu wrote:I think FOX didn't see any reason to market it well in the US. I'm relieved and disappointed.Bura wrote:© DBthemovie.comUPDATE: The “news” has been confirmed to be a lie started by the blog. If a sequel or reboot ever does happen, we’re certain Fox will try to hide it from the public like DB:E. Probably not a bad idea for their already horrible reputation lately.
Can't say I'm too surprised. XD
Disalieved?
I still sorta wish that FOX would just come out and say if they are or are not looking into doing anything further with Dragon Ball in the future; that way they can easily put to rest all these rumors.
If we hear anything it probably won't be until after the dvd's out though, huh?
On hiatus.

Huh...HUH? What the fuck is that? That's not real. No, no, no. no, no, no, noooo.
That's gotta be the worst DVD cover I've ever seen.
"The kids Matrix?"

It would appear that Piccolo is attempting to make friends by putting his arm around Roshi in a friendly manner.
