Hey, I hear that internet is actually useful in some cases!Herms wrote:Ah, the eternal cycle of complaining about "kids these days". Everyone knows kids today have no imagination, what with their radio/tv/color tv/video games/internet/cell phones/texting/twitter.
Not like I'd turn down the chance to go off on a trip down nostalgia lane with Toonami, but where exactly does it say that June 24, 1999 was when DBZ first aired on Toonami? I know it's not the best source, but:
Also, gotta second SSj_Rambo's thoughts on Toonami Digital Arsenal. Though they really should revamp the site to have the clips play through something like the YouTube. Skimming through their site, I love how Meri's site is uh... cited for one of the DBZ commercialsWikipedia wrote:The dubbed episodes premiered in the United States on The WB in September 1996, though it was eventually canceled in May 1998. During the fall of the same year, the dub began airing on Cartoon Network as part of the channel's new Toonami programming block. Soon after, Funimation continued dubbing the series from where the syndicated dub left off, now using their own in-house voice actors, a new musical score, and less editing. The new dub of DBZ ran on Cartoon Network from September 1999 to April 2003.
EDIT:
Sooo true! I (finally) caught the first Transformers movie and immediately thought that when he first spoke!Chuquita wrote:As a result of avid Toonami viewing back in the day, I cannot watch any Transformers commercials with Optimus Prime without hearing the Toonami narrator instead and grinning in nostalgia.
And I may be completely wrong with this, but didn't Toonami also air an edited version of the first Brolly movie? Doing a quick YouTube search, I could be wrong, but just thought I'd bring it up.
