Stories of the year:
1. MJ Died
2. MOTHER FUCKING DRAGON BOXES IN NORTH AMERICA
3. MOTHER FUCKING ONE PIECE MANGA SPEED UP

No. That was for general folks.Smooth Criminal wrote:Did you really type all of this in one minute?DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Sorry buddy, but the quality will not change. It's DRAGON BOX, for Kaioshin's sake! Stop whining! I hate to see the dogs here whining because of one more episode pack in per disc. Gosh, I'm so sick of them bashing on Funimation all the time! I came here to see the excited faces of the fans here but instead all I see was hating and rage!
You should be happy that Funimation will be release Dragon Box at all or else you will be suffering at the hand of Remastered Season sets! You all have have to learn to be more appreciative instead of vomiting in rage and drunk out on them. For me personally, I'm happy that they will release the perfect gift, a gift that nobody thought would be released. I don't care if they milk my money. I will buy anything as long as it's Dragon Ball because I'm a darn collector. I'm happy with my season sets and I'm even more happy that there will be American version of Dragon Box.
Now all I see here was dissing on Funimation when they try to give what fans really wanted for over a decade of suffering! I'm so sick of Funi vs Ocean, Jap vs Funi BGM (yes I just used the dreaded Jap) or Remastered vs Dragon Box! Ugh! Don't ever compare the releases. They are not all the same! It's like comparing apple and orange, polar bear and grizzly bear, white butt and black butt. I'm so tired of hearing that all the time. Can't you guys just be happy for once?
Dragon Box was supposed to be released in Japan only and were in limited-edition pre-order releases. Does that the same of here? No. We can buy Dragon Box in major retailer stores. If you don't like that ultimate gift, you might as well go back to old days of Saban releases and hold them dear.
I'm feeling much better, thanks to venting on my anger.
This is a capitalist society. We are fully within our rights, as patrons, to bitch at Funimation. There are obviously things that can't be made to satisfy every one, but things like picture and audio quality are measurable and with just a little effort can be made to suit everyone. I'm happy they're trying, but they are indeed capable of doing better. Whether they NEED to do better than this when it comes to disc count it something that will have to wait before it can be determined. For now, all we can do is looked to the more video-tech-inclined forum members to give us an idea of what may happen.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:Sorry buddy, but the quality will not change. I backed up all of my orange bricks so as not to have to futz with the fragile digipak. I used an incredibly cheap, and by cheap I mean free, software to do so. I put, I think 9 episods per disc. Yah, there was some quality loss, but it wasn't enough to bother me. I'm sure that 1 extra episode and some audio won't cause too much of a problem, especially when using the proper resources to do so.Big Boss wrote:I'm going to quote what I said earlier:Smooth Criminal wrote:I have concerns the bitrate and image quality will suffer. Unless you all have microscopic vision to see every blemish and detail, you won't even notice the difference anyways.Big Boss wrote:I'm going to quote what I said earlier:Smooth Criminal wrote:I have concerns the bitrate and image quality will suffer. QFT. All Funi's adding is an extra episode per disc, an audio track, and a subtitle track. It will lead to the bit rate being slightly lower, but not noticeably.Castor Troy wrote:Unless you all have microscopic vision to see every blemish and detail, you won't even notice the difference anyways.Big Boss wrote:I'm going to quote what I said earlier:Smooth Criminal wrote:I have concerns the bitrate and image quality will suffer. I'm pretty confident that FUNi won't go the HK bootlegger route compressing 9 episodes per disc and having every fast motion fight all macroblocky.
I just checked one of the R2 discs earlier and there's BARELY any space left. I think the disc I checked (#33) took up 7.8 GB.jjgp1112 wrote:QFT. And besides, didn't the Dragon Boxes still have some free space on the discs anyway? I remember someone on this forum saying that.
Yeah, the two singles I own barely have any space left. As long as they only add the stereo dub track instead of the 5.1 track, the quality difference shouldn't be very noticeable. Funi's got its work cut out for them though.Castor Troy wrote:I just checked one of the R2 discs earlier and there's BARELY any space left. I think the disc I checked (#33) took up 7.8 GB.
And Season 9, Disc 2, which has 7 episodes, uses 7.7 GBsnaku wrote:Yeah, the two singles I own barely have any space left. It wouldn't even be an issue if they'd just bump the sets up to 7 discs each.
I see them raising the disc count as well.snaku wrote:Yeah, the two singles I own barely have any space left. The orange bricks didn't have next episode previews either, and didn't the episodes share the same OP & ED videos?jjgp1112 wrote:And Season 9, Disc 2, which has 7 episodes, uses 7.7 GBsnaku wrote:Yeah, the two singles I own barely have any space left.
