I'm in Corbin. It seems like Kentucky is a good place to be if you're a Dragon Ball fan.Hao_Kaiser wrote:It's the same for me... Almost exactly. I have 5 within a 25 mile radius. I honestly can't believe that there's a market for this ANYWHERE near me.gallagtor wrote:Wow, there are 4 machines within 25 miles of my house. And I live in Tiny-Hick-Town, Kentucky. I'll have to try my luck on my next trip to Wal-Mart.
What Tiny-Hick-Town are you in? If you don't mind me asking, that is.

How much does it cost to play this game? I might actually give it a try next time I'm at one of the 5 local Wal-Marts.

They're from the "Highspec Coloring Figure" line, which has had several different releases of figures. I did a search on Hobby Link Japan, and it appears that there have been about 25 DBZ figures made in this style (though most are no longer available for purchase through them, you'd probably have to look through eBay).Haseowolf wrote:Anyone know what line of Banpresto figures these are?

Well, just got back from an AMC. I managed to snag 6 out of 8 of the figures!!! I even got 2 figures from one claw snatch!!! I'm quite the badass.
I got S.S. Goku, S.S./S.S.2 Gohan, Super Vegito, 2 S.S. Majin Vegetas, Perfect Cell, and Super Buu. I'm gonna try to get S.S. Future Trunks and Normal Goku some time later on. All for a waste of $9/72 tries.
But they are amazingly kick-ass. If anyone's interested, I can sell my extra S.S. Majin Vegeta... still in the package and all. PM with an offer!

Me and a friend spent 45 minutes at one of those machines, and must have spent $15 between the two of us trying to get ONE. Haha
I like how Goku, Gohan, and Vegetto have the exact same poses.
Congratulations, though. Those look really awesome.

Went to go see Bruno, and we got the chance to play the game. We brought $12 in quarters to the theater. $11.50 spent and we finally snagged this beaut.

Yeah, my buddy just got a new lense and he went kind of crazy with the pictures. I'll post some of the cool ones here.

Neither of us are really in to collecting toys, but something about the rush of trying to get one and the allure of seeing a huge Dragon Ball Z machine was enough to get us to try our hardest to grab one. Plus, they're really detailed and cool little figures. I'd like to post a little bit of info about the machines and boxes so that anybody who hasn't tried will walk in and know what to expect.
First of all, I don't think this machine is pressure sensitive like most claw-based machines. Normally claw machines run on programming that cause the claw to alternate in strength with each drop. It starts out weak, and it gets stronger and stronger until 10-15 tries later and it's the strongest it will get, then it resets. I don't think that's important with this machine. So let me start off by saying, you have a very slim chance of getting one of the figures if you try to wrap the claw around the box. The trick is to try to get two of the arms into one of the holes. The box has 8 little holes in it for the machine to grab on to. Let me show you:

So if you displayed the box in two dimensions it looks like this (and please excuse my terrible paint picture):

We won our toy by getting the claw to get stuck in the top and bottom hole as the box was lying on its side. It didn't matter how much the machine jerked it around, it was stuck for good. So if you're going to try to win, I would suggest going for boxes that are lying down on the side. I can't say for sure, but I know that it was harder to get the claw to grab onto a box that was standing straight up. Don't misinterpret me though; I'm not saying it's easy. You will fail many times before you get the figure. Be prepared to lose more than $5 on this little sucker. But once you have the box in your hand, it's so rewarding.
Hope that helped, and good luck, guys. I'm going back later with some quarters and I'm going to try to get Vegetto, Trunks, or Majin Vegeta.
