Well, if you think about things objectively, the season sets do offer a bit more in terms of content in regards to the show itself; for example, the three available voice tracks, the alternate angles, and the subtitles are all features not present on the Japanese Dragon Boxes. While the Dragon Box has superior video and sound quality, the season sets are pretty ideal if you're not really concerned about how things look or sound as long as they're competently put together, which they are.

Just playing devil's advocate, though.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure the things lacking in the Japanese Dragon Box will be present in the upcoming English Dragon Boxes. That, I think, is what will ultimately make the season sets utterly useless.

From our point of view, yeah the season sets will be useless. But the average joe will still be buying.
