Anything my Mystic hero said deserves a mention. I actually had the one you posted there in my sig for a bit.

Ginyu: Can you please SHUT UP?!

Yeah, but hey, in your first post you were rather specific about what Lines you were talking about, except the "Goku's Speech to Vegeta".
Which speech, there were several speeches in the series that that could mean.

Yeah, but hey, in your first post you were rather specific about what Lines you were talking about, except the "Goku's Speech to Vegeta".
Which speech, there were several speeches in the series that that could mean.[/quote]When he's about to fuse with Vegeta:

"Wake up! Majin Buu's eaten everyone we care about! Everyone is gone - even Bulma! They've all become a part of Buu - they can't even die! I just thought the least we could do is put our old differences aside, just this once, and really work together. We owe that to our teammates - our families Vegeta! Our friends! Look, you've always talked about our Saiyan race, how we're the last of a mighty people. Well it's time we accept we're starting a new race - one that can be just as strong, just as proud! But not if we're so caught up with our old birth rights that we can't see what's right in front of us! We've lost our old race, Vegeta! Let's not lose this one, too!"

And some more great dub dialogue:

Piccolo: Now I understand - Buu would simply regenerate if he was damaged in any normal way, so you had to make an attack powerful enough to blow him to bits. Well you did it Vegeta, your sacrifice wasn't in vain. I've walked through that door before, I know it's not easy, especially for a selfish guy like you. Heh, I was just like you once, until Gohan's love changed me, and you've been changed too. I know how much courage it took for you to do what you did. Goodbye, Vegeta.

Kid Buu: Me, Buu. Kill You
Goku: Well, you wouldn't be the first, but you can never kill what I represent.

Majin Vegeta (after knocking Goku out): Maybe we can continue this another day...when I see you in hell.

Goku (to Gohan): I don't know where you got in your head that there's something wrong with you, cause there's not! You've saved min and our friends' lives so many times, and you're gonna do it again-RIGHT NOW!

Goku (after Kid Buu accidentally regenerates his head on his crotch): Now look, I understand we're under a lot of pressure, but let's try to keep our heads on our shoulders.

Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Some of the banter between the Ginyu Force Members in Season 2 wasn't too bad (the Season 3 Ginyu dialogue is atrocious though).

Vegeta spluttering out "with that new get-up kid, I feel real safe, hahahahhaha... safe", made me chuckle a bit, though the dialogue before that is pretty terrible. I dunno, many people probably wouldn't like that line, I do for some reason.

There's a few other lines here and there. The lines mentioned above, I probably only like because I enjoy the dub as well as the original, but yeah very few instances of changed dialogue strike me as good or clever writing.
In a nutshell: Likes the sub and the dub and barely ever posts.

Urgh. That's the kind of dialogue that makes me cringe. It's just too Superman.

Yeah, throwaway lines are one thing, but when they're character or Story-Altering it's bad.

that's why I hate pretty much all of the Dub Dialog from the first Son Vs. Vegeta Fight.

but it may just be me, but I've always been partial to the "People-Popcorn" line from the Boo Arc.

Call me Crazy, but I thought that was one of the few in-character Ad-libs for Son.

Yeah, I saw that too, was that the Dub writers just... screwing around?
Yep. It's the end of the movie, it's funny, it works, I don't mind. The second Pokemon movie did the same, adding a long and absolutely hilarious Team Rocket skit over an originally dialouge-less pan scene (the Pokemon dub generally does the joke-adding well, the jokes are usually funny, fit the tone of both the series and the situation, aren't out of character, and rarely replace any dialouge of substance).

So yeah, never mind the original question, since I'm not overly familiar with either the English dub or manga translation, but I really like an added line in the Danish manga right after Goku fires his Kamehame-ha against Jackie Chun ("Jeg ka' osse ha' me' ha!") It's not really translatable, but it's a really cute pun, and it's totally something Goku would say.

If you think that's bad, try watching dub GT Goku SSj 4. He's almost constantly spewing lines like "I am the light" "Darkness will never triumph over the light" "The light will always emerge victorious"... etcetera. It's hilarious, really :P

You'd absolutely dispise dub GT.
Seeing Goku fight Bebi is really not like watching a Dragonball fight at all. He really goes waaay over the top with those lines.

I've watched that fight a billion times, his only superhero lines the whole time were:

Goku: Baby, I cannot allow you to get awaywith the trauma you've caused to innocent people. You've gone too far - now you've gotta deal with me.

Which was pretty similar to what he said in the Japanese version.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

For the most part, I thought the Japanese dialogue was much better (and I say that as someone who is a die-hard fan of both versions--a rarity, I know, but it's true). Every once in a while, I liked FUNi's lines better, though. Both of the lines th at immediatley come to mind (there are more, but these are my immediate ones) are from Vegeta.

*As he's being killed by Freeza*
"This is a dream come true, to see you beaten by a Saiyan ((note: referring to Goku))! If there is a God, he has been kind to let me live long enough to see this day!"

That line is very intense for me, especially if you take into account that Vegeta knows he's doing to die in a few moments.

Then...after Cell has been beaten...

"I am no warrior. I will never fight again."

That was also a very intense moment for me because Saiyans (or the Saiya-jins, should you prefer that) are a race of warriors, especially the prince of them all. They live to fight. That line almost equated to Vegeta saying he didn't want to live anymore.
"Gohan, l...listen..."
"What is it, Mr. Piccolo?"
"Why...didn't...you...DOOOOOODGE!!!???"

I really liked Goku's first line in the Viz manga. "Hey, Bro! Wuzzup!?" really captures that characters personality in my opinion.

Every time these types of threads are made I keep forgetting to post my favorite line from dub GT.

Pan is trying to dress Goku up as a girl and he shouts

"This won't work, I already tried it!"

Awesome stuff...I'm surprised the writers even remembered there was a series before DBZ.

I'll never understand why people despise this line. Sure it's not magnificent but I never found it to be cringe worthy.

To me, that sounds more like something a frat boy would say rather than a young child who grew up secluded in the mountains with his grandfather.

That is as bad as all of the 80's pop culture crap people spouted out in the Ocean/FUNi Season 3 dub...

Yes, it's as bad, if not worse than "Mondo cool!"

Only the "bro". Other than that it seems a decent interpretation.
