Unless you take Dragon Ball Kai as a dub, since it's a new recording.

I'm not complaining. The Arabic is propably one of the worst dubs ever when it comes to edits and re-writes, but the voice cast is one of the best.

Maybe I'll do a vidoe about the voices someday sooner or later.

My top 5 dubs are the following:

1. Latin American Spanish
2. English (FUNimation)
3. Italian
4. Brazilian Portuguese
5. Catalan

I like the Latin Spanish dub mainly because it seems authentic to the original Japanese. The script is a great translation and the voices are pretty good.

I know I'm going to get flamed for liking FUNi's version, but in my opinion I think it's good because it's what I saw first. Sure the script may not be great and all, but what I like the most in FUNi's dub is the voices.

The Italian version while sticking to the original script did change the opening song, but it was catchy so kudos to them.

The Brazilian Portuguese is also great because it is based on the Latin Spanish meaning the script is close to the original, but there are some voices I don't like for example I don't like Kid Gohan's voice it's too old for him.

The Catalan dub's main strength is the fact that almost all the vocal songs were dubbed despite the fact that it was heavily censored thanks to it being based on the French dub.

I guess i'd have to FUNimation. In terms of voice actors anyway, some lines they came up with were terrible :?.

Best would have to go to Toei (but obviously we cant count that in this discussion). Worst would go to "The Big Green dub". That dub honestly sounded like the voice actors got absolutely bladdered before every recording session .

This got me wondering, how many of these international dubs made it to DVD? And further more, how many have made it completely to DVD? Not just parts and pieces of the series.

I know that some are next to non-existent, like the Mexican dub (tiny part released here in the US), the Big Green dub (only has a few DVD's), the Malaysian dub was only available on VCD in out of the way places. Ocean dub not past the first two Sagas.

I forget which dub is in the Black Brick. Arabic was it?

Well, they still release the movies here, in Portugal, only with the horrible Portuguese dub and VHS quality, but the complete series has never been released here.

The best: French Dub.

Very cool voices, not that far from the original Japanese lines (most of the time at least), feeling, etc...

Worst: European Portuguese Dub.

Yes! My own home country one! Why? Cos' it blows dogs for quarters!

It's absolutely pathetic! Bad voice talent(like, 5 guys doing almost all of the voices), non-Dragonball jokes (references to TV channel's own programs were very recurrent) and at last but not least, they couldn't scream a good attack to save their lives.

Actually I prefer the Portuguese Dub to the American one, for example.

Out of the ones I have seen I believe the Mexican dub and Funimation dub(say what you will) are the best.
I actually prefer the second DBZ opening in the Mexican version to the original. It sounds better IMO.

Gotta say, the Mexican dub is pretty awesome.

I used to love the French dub, but it's got too many negative sides for it to be the best. Things such as sudden change of voice actors in the middle of a saga, ackward lines, and strange censorings ruins it, but apart from that, I also think it's a pretty damn fine dub. I love the main voices of Vegeta, Piccolo, Freeza, Cell, Buu, Goku, Gohan, Goten, Trunks... They've got most of them pretty right; although Goku sounds nothing like Masako Nozawa, most of them sound kinda like their Japanese counter-parts.

I don't speak Spanish, but one of my best friends SWEARS By the Mexican Spanish dub of the series.

So I'll have to go with that.

Definitely Audio Latino. I cut my teeth on that, and I'm stickin to it.

Though Germany has the rockinest tunes.

However, I feel that "What's my Destiny, Dragon Ball?" and the 1995 Funi DB theme capture the DB feeling the best.
