Who is still alive during the Goku Jr. Special?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Toriyama is a Vegeta hater I refuse to believe that the Prince of all Saiyans and earth’s protector would die from high blood pressure.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

How would you know? Toriyama hated Saiyan-Professor, "Oh! Let's just dump this white-bearded Saiyan by having Freeza blow up Planet Vegeta! I'm sick of him already!"

Not in Dragon World. But I take it Vegeta is dead during the Goku Jr special. Don't like that, well it's okay cause if you don't count GT Vegeta is still alive.

That's kinda childish dude. But then again, Goku in one timeline died of heart disease.

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

There are medicines to help control high blood pressure, but they're not magical cures. Prevention methods may help you keep the symptoms at bay and live longer, but you'd still be better off without the problem in the first place.

Toriyama simply said that Vegeta would probably die first, not that high blood pressure would just strike him dead some day. But I think he was mostly joking about it anyway.

I wish most Dragonball fans had a sense of humor.

So high blood pressure from those torture trainings?
Probably more from his angry nature. Vegeta's like the Hank Hill of Dragon Ball.

In the Q&A section at the back of the SEG: Character Volume, Toriyama says that while a Saiyan's youthful period is longer than humans (as said in chapter 518), their actual lifespans are not all that different than Earthlings. So while they remain youthful for a long time, at a certain age they begin to rapidly degenerate. Kind of a creepy thought.

EDIT: I was too slow in typing my reply. ^^;
*Decides she'll leave her response up anyway, because there's a link there to the Super Exciting Guide translation thread along with some stuff she wanted to say*.

* Goes to quote Herms from http://db.schuby.org/daizex/viewtopic.php?t=10196 *
Herms wrote:Saiyan aging
Next Toriyama is asked whether Saiyans are always young. As a fighting race they stay young for a long time in order to maintain their power, but Toriyama explains that their actual lifespan isn’t much different than Earthlings, and they quickly deteriorate after a certain age. Toriyama adds that Saiyan hair style still changes with age, and that Nappa went bald. Like with Earthlings, hair composition various from person to person.

I honestly think the quick deterioration thing is a scary, awful way to go.
So, even if somehow Vegeta was able to hold out that long 100 years, he wouldn't be able to do very much.

I wonder if Vegeta's even aware of the rapid-aging thing himself?
On hiatus.

I'm a bit confused who exactly is the the girl in the end of episode 64. Would that be Bra's daughter or granddaughter?

Pan is Goku Jr's great great grandmother, I believe, so she was probably Bra's (or Trunks' maybe?) great granddaughter.

Well I managed to locate an answer to my own question

http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Vegeta_Jr.%27s_mother

According to dragonball.wikia

"she is a descendant of Bulma and likely the granddaughter of either Bulla or Trunks."

Don't believe anything Dragon Ball Wikia says. It's full of misinformation. Although it is obvious that she's a descendant of Bulma.

I think Grandaunt is actually a word. It's synonymous with the much more commonly used "great aunt" though.

Indeed it is, from the 1820s.
