Super Jinzoningen 17 way too powerful ?
Is it me or is Super 17 just way too powerful ? I understand that GT stretches things and whatnot, but at least somethings still make sense. How can fusing two 17's be so strong? I mean come on, Oob fused with Majin Boo couldn't defeat him along with the rest of the Saiya-jinn ? That is just crazy. What about Trunks and Goten ? Why couldn't they just fuse. I'm just asking too much questions but in all reality how could he give SSJ4 Goku trouble. That's where i draw the line. Why is he so strong ?
True but when you look at the original, 17 couldn't stand up to Cell, who Vegeta threw around like he was nothing. The other 17 was putting up a decent fight against Vegeta before he fused with 17, but if he was more powerful he should have been able to easily throw around Vegeta. Even after the fusion, a SSJ3 should be good enough to beat Super 17.

He was much stronger. When Vegeta was fighting with him, mistaking him for the original No.17, he said that No.17 had "powered up unbelievably.JulieYBM wrote:Hell Fighter #17 may have been more powerful than the original, which allowed for the fusion to be stronger.

Well, Goten and Trunks were nothing individually against even Fat Buu, but after busting out the Fusion Dance, they were able to match weight with Super Buu. Goku and Vegeta would've gotten demolished by Super Buu 3 as individuals, but after putting on the Potara, Vegito all but raped Buu with a steel pipe.
Fusion is not to be fucked with.

As people said, the 'power of Hell' was poured into 17 when the gate was opened. I'd assume the Hell 17 was strong to begin with. And fusions are always a lot stronger than the sums of their parts.
I mean, you might as well ask how Cell got so strong just by absorbing 17 and 18, who weren't that strong compared to him (especially once he'd already absorbed 17).
Of course, the reason that Goten and Trunks didn't fuse was because Toei wanted Goku to do everything. And the Super 17 saga, particularly, doesn't seem to make much sense.

Yep. I watched it last night, and that's pretty much exactly what they said.Puto wrote:I recall that in Hell, Dr. Mu and Dr. Gero talked about how "17 had a lot of unfulfilled potential" that was disabled due to that design being incomplete or some crap like that and that Hell Fighter 17 would complete 17's body.
Hence fusion is stronger than the sum of its parts.
I don't blame you. What bothers me about GT power levels is how inconsistent they are. Goku has trouble against giant worms, but doesn't think to become a Super Saiyajin to fight them. Then, he takes on someone he claims to be stronger than Buu, and only fights in base and Super Saiyajin forms. Then, they defeat this guy without even using Super Saiyajin.DBAlpha wrote:I guess you're right. I just always had a problem with the overall "power levels" of people in GT anyways... especially with Baby, but that's a whole different topic altogether.Bussani wrote: Hence fusion is stronger than the sum of its parts.
Then you have Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, Gohan and Uub being unable to move Super 17 at all, and Super Saiyajin Goku comes along and punches him around the world. Also, Goku beating Freeza and Cell in his base form (although he did ask "did you guys forget how to use ki?" when they powered up -- maybe they got weaker in Hell?).

Maybe fusion of same constructs would produce a more powerful fighter (similar to Namek fusion). Add to that the fact that Dr. Myu's alien technology combined with knowledge he could have learned from Bebi (when possesed by him) was there.DBAlpha wrote:Is it me or is Super 17 just way too powerful ? Also, I recall Goku saying to Vegeta (when he had to fight Super Buu) that while his dead body may be stronger, if he was destroyed it would be for good. He also states that he was able to to handle SSJ3 better in his dead body. So I would assume something about the afterlife makes your body stronger. It must be the afterlife milk or something.
