What about Noozles and Grimm's Fairy Tales Classics? Granted they haven't aged too well, but if you turn off your anime-differing senses and watch them like you would any other cartoon, they're ok.B wrote:No, it just re-enforces my previous disposition that watchable children's anime never receive decent dubs.
Does watching this give you new appreciation for Funi's dub?

I still have a VHS tape of that. It's one of my fondest memories...

Man I really liked my metaphor....oh well.
Are you sure this is real, though? I tried watching it a second time and it sounds like something my friends and I would do when we are bored.

...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
If this is real, which I can personally confirm it is, then I have no trouble believing that Digimon dub is real, tooRod wrote:This has to be fake O_o
How did they even get one episode?

If its any consolidation the original version was just awful so you weren't missing out on much.Adamant wrote:If this is real, which I can personally confirm it is, then I have no trouble believing that Digimon dub is real, tooRod wrote:This has to be fake O_o

That Digimon dub was real. It was dubbed by a company called Agapio which was a Finnish dubbing company that did a terrible job on every show they worked on. Look them up on wikipedia, you'll find more shows they did.
Agapio dubbed the first 26 episodes of season 1 of Digimon and then they were fired. Here's another clip and this person on youtube has every single Finnish Digimon episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xN66zjAvvI

Does it make me "appreciate FUNi's dub more?"
... Marginally, at best.
Does it make me "realize that it could have been MUCH worse?"
Immensely.

I already felt this way about 4kids' One Piece Dub.
They Removed ENTIRE ARCS for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON!!
Like someone said, there will ALWAYS be the smaller fish out there, doesn't change the fact that the FUNi dub is still a pretty small, smelly little fish.
But I have noticed this phenomenon where I've seen people on other forums go into a DBZ thread and say they love the DBZ dub, then go into a Naruto, Bleach, or Death Note thread to bitch about how "Terrible" they seem to hink those shows' Dubs are.

Start a DBZ topic on 4chan's /a/ board.DemonRin wrote:But I have noticed this phenomenon where I've seen people on other forums go into a DBZ thread and say they love the DBZ dub, then go into a Naruto, Bleach, or Death Note thread to bitch about how "Terrible" they seem to hink those shows' Dubs are.
It's astonishing that that particular userbase prides itself on the motto, "dubs suck, you fucking dubfaggot" will use the word "Tien."

Which is why I ignore most anime forums.DemonRin wrote:But I have noticed this phenomenon where I've seen people on other forums go into a DBZ thread and say they love the DBZ dub, then go into a Naruto, Bleach, or Death Note thread to bitch about how "Terrible" they seem to hink those shows' Dubs are.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Watching this dub is like getting an icepick through both nuts.
Watching FUNi DBZ is like getting an icepick through the sack, but missing the nuts.
Watching the DBZ anime at all is like getting kicked in the nuts.
The DB manga, obviously, is like powdering your nuts with Gold Bond.

Do we have anything to add or contribute to a discussion other than random dub-bashing?
I mean, shit... I have zero interest in watching... nevermind applauding... FUNimation's English dub of the series... but... this just really serves no purpose what-so-ever, does it...?

And to answer the topic question... uh, no. Why would it? "Thank you FUNimation! I realize in retrospect that your shitty dub could have been shittier."
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

But what about Dragonball (not Z)? It keeps the original score, and is a great dub. I sometimes watch it. I think you'd enjoy it.VegettoEX wrote:Do we have anything to add or contribute to a discussion other than random dub-bashing?

It's got the same problems as the DBZ dub does (some questionable casting, ventriloquist dialogue, unnecessary rewrites, insert songs talked over and/or gone) but it's not as bad. At least they could actually act...RoarkVegeta wrote:But what about Dragonball (not Z)? It keeps the original score, and is a great dub. I sometimes watch it. I think you'd enjoy it.
...when is MORE than I could say than this. THIS is the funniest/most horrible thing I've ever seen.
